With all the Christmas/Santa/gift talk goin on at what age did you find out?? You know. About "Santa"??? Im gonna say by 7/8 yo.The gifts bein locked in the trunk of moms car(with the keys) Christmas morning was kind of an eye opener.Jake knew by probably 7/8 too.He just up and ask one day and we had said if he ask we'd tell him and we did.I think Tonya cried more then Jake did.
 
1st grade, Danny Brogan had to come to school and spoil it. I went home and my parents confirmed it when confronted. I had to live the lie until my sister, 3 years younger than me, figured it out. Seemed like she got a lot further than I did.

Now my 3 kids are close in age, but all very different. My oldest son seems like an old soul, seems to have known since around first grade, but still won't admit it, won't answer directly. Think he'll be a good politician. We think he feared if he admitted it, the presents would stop rolling in, so he "believed".

My daughter heard rumors, asked us after 4th grade, we confirmed. Her twin brother, now in 5th grade is still all about Santa. Even though he's debunked the Easter bunny, tooth fairy, and thankfully that damn elf on the shelf. If he doesn't realize soon, we plan to have a talk with him before middle school.
 
My 6 year old girls have no idea yet and I plan to keep it like that! :)

Although they may pick up on it by next year as many of the Christmas movies tend to offer some insight to the truth and it won't be long until they pick up on it. Bri and I haven't goofed up where the girls have picked up on yet. We almost screwed up the Elf on Shelf debacle (oh darn... lol).




As for me, I don't really remember. It wasn't important I guess. The celebration and family seemed to be the focus of Christmas as a kid moreso than Santa
 
Third grade, on the school bus, right before Christmas break. When I got home, I asked...my mom's only response was 'if you don't believe in Santa, you don't get presents'...and that was that. So I still don't actually know if he exists or not.
 
Oh yeah Christmas movies and TV can spoil it. Elf comes pretty close, and either the original Goonies or sequel come straight out and debunk it. Even after that, Santa is as real as the sun to him. I mean he knows some of the ones in malls etc, are fake, but still thinks the real one makes pre-Christmas appearances.
 
I knew early on. We lives in a trailer and mom had a hatchback, so no real hiding anything. AND I was nosey.

My middle child (daughter) asked my wife at 5 or 6: "Is Santa real? The kids on my bus said no and I want to know the truth, and DON'T LIE to me mom!" What do you do with THAT? I tell you what, you tell her the damn TRUTH! Problem is, she fired off "Easter bunny? Tooth fairy?...." and ruined the whole YEAR :lol: We made her promise not to tell her little sister, but this topic came up earlier this year (she turns 18 tomorrow) as she told us that she remembers that conversation vividly and BECAUSE of that truthfulness, she has made a concerted effort to NEVER lie to us. And she's told us some pretty shocking things when we asked her straight up about them. As far as we can tell she's never lied to us if we've asked her something directly. And she attributes that to us never lying to HER when she asked us about Santa.

I don't remember age, probably 5ish. I got out of bed Christmas Eve for some reason, walked into the den and saw my Aunt stuffing the stockings. I just turned around and went back to bed and never said a word about it.
 
My oldest figured out last year when he was 8, he asked us and we told him the truth, always said we would. I think he didn't really want to know though. :(

The youngest is 6 now and he is still believing and we want to keep it that way for as long as possible. His big brother is really good about keeping the magic alive too, which is cool.
 
This is a sensitive subject for me. When did I stop believing that a man in a red suit came to my house and delivered me presents? Probably 8..When did I start to believe in the Magic that Santa stood for? a little too late... I now try to tell all my nieces and nephews to hold on that magic as long as you can. Its like Johnny Mathis says in the song "Toyland" "Once you pass its boarders, you can never return again"
 
My 3rd grade teacher told the entire class, so that is how I found out.
Our oldest daughter who is now 11, found out 2 years ago. We always have taken her to the same Santa every year, so she always knew that was the real Santa. But eventually she asked, and we told her.
Our younger daughter is 8. Her therapist broke the news to her earlier this year. But she still kind-of believes.
 
My 7 year old daughter I can tell is on the fence about belief , my 5 year old boy is still buying into it hard. They had a Santa tracker thing on TV the other night.They said you could see him in the sky. My daughter anxiously ran out on the deck and swore she could see him. I smiled,so happy she was trying to hang on.
 
I can't remember how old I was when I found out. I believe my wife told me she was 6 yrs old, and said that she was devastated.

My boy just turned 6 yrs old, and he still believes, but due to the way that he is acting, my guess is he won't believe this time next year.

6ish. I went out to get my bag out of my moms car one day before some sports practice since I was riding with my dad. Saw some presents, didn't think much. A few weeks later one I saw was labeled "From Santa". I played it off for a few more years until my dad asked if I was still serious if I still believed and I spilled the beans of the long con. Hahaha.

Saying don't shoot your eye out??? When the little ones lose the excitement they had on Christmas morning its a real downer.I miss it but at 45 I'm not gonna start over just to relive it.
 
I was about 8. I don't remember how I found out though, seems like I just stopped believing. Would be fun to be that young and believe again though.
 
I was pretty young. Kindergarten or 1st grade. As long as I can remember I've known Mom and Dad were the ones putting out presents on Christmas Eve. I would never sleep, and immediately after hearing them go to bed I'd get up with my flashlight and see what "Santa" brought. I never had a discussion with my parents about his legitimacy.

As an adult, I know he's legit. Is he one dude in a red suit flying to every house in the world in one night? Of course not, but how can any adult that's putting out presents for their kids deny his existence? He lives through each and every parent doing all they can do to make Christmas day special for their children.
