wife received a particularly disturbing series of texts from a cell number last night. several very detailed texts, then several calls = not a bot. any way to track a # to a name / address?

they were from Atlanta area code, but the timing was if dude was looking in the windows. also as if they had gone through our mail. want to know if its someone that has recently moved to the area.

lets just say it ended in me doing a perimeter sweep around 11 with the 'high speed hole-puncher'

Several "reverse phone lookup" websites.

You pay a nominal fee and get all the info, but it may be dated if it's a new service.

I would go ahead and file a complaint with the popo. If you've told them to stop and they continue it's felony harassment

Are you wanting to find their billing address or gps the phones location? Idk if it’s possible to do the second one legally

  1. post number here
  2. let me text number
  3. post screen shots
  4. laugh
  5. profit???

What I would do is first use the number to search them on facebook. If that works, you will get their name which you can then use on whitepages.com to get further details. There are other methods, but this is my first go to everytime I need to do it.

The answer is, for a "normal guy" there aren't many options. If dude is stupid then yes a couple good searches will connect to a Facebook profile or something. But the probability of it being current are low.
Unfortunately it's so easy to get a burner phone or VOIP phone number that it's very difficult to trace to an actual person.
It's possible to trace back to the cell towers they bounced off of or IP address of the local server BUT that requires a warrant.

Post the number on Craigslist for free vehicles and he’ll be to busy with calls to call y’all back lol

I may start doing this with repeat wrong numbers, thanks for the idea.

But seriously, post the number up here. There are plenty of us willing to help try to figure it out through various methods.

Know any small town cops? I have a go to that I take serial #s on used guns I buy and VIN#s ect for him to run. He was able to help me out when I had a guy that was harassing me.

Unfortunately it's very easy to spoof numbers now too. The number showing up on your caller id could have nothing to do with the actual caller.
Actually unless the guy is a complete idiot this is most likely the case. There are too many apps to make your number appear as a different one from whatever area you want.

One day about a month ago, I got about 10 calls to my cell phone within a 20 minute period - all people calling to say, "You just called my number, who is this?" Best I can tell this ^^ is what happened. Somebody randomly used my number for a spam call list.

Yep, I've been on both sides of this. I've called a missed call back and they said they never called and I've been called saying I just called them...

Even better, last week somebody called my office phone for the same reason.
"You just called me."
"No, I didn't".
"Yes you did, I have it right here on my Caller ID, I just hit redial."
"Um trust me. I didn't call you."
"Who is this? I'm reporting you."
"Sure. This is an office in a secure DoD facility. Tell Mitch the operator I said Hello. [ok so at that point I'm just fucking with her]. I'm pretty sure you were spammed."
"Oh." Click.

I almost fell for that one. "I recognize that #, but cant place it.... Wait a minute..."

Local police should be your friends, they have tech that can track the number, turn it over to them it's their job! Then block the number! My favorite is the one for the extended warranty on cars, when you tell them yes I want it, then tell them you have a 49 willys, and your daily driver has 250k on it, they leave you alone after that.

I kept getting calls from someone who claimed to be from the CDC. She would always ask if I was doing something dangerous like driving. I would say yes and she would say she would call back. Well she called back during dinner and asked the same question. In a labored voice I said I was having sex with my wife. To which she replied EXCUSE ME????!!!!! I calmly replied that we were having sex and I had to hold on tight to keep from being thrown out of the saddle and hurt something. And that was the last time the CDC called and asked if I was doing something dangerous. Of course my wife looks at me and asks who the hell are you talking to?? Said the CDC and went back to eating dinner.

I'm getting warranty calls and student dept relief calls from some hospital in huntersville. I let my son call them back(2yo), and had nurses picking up on the labor and delivery floor. These guys will steal numbers.

Idea came up when a member on here from my area that I introduced to the forum decided to be a homo and screw long time members over on here... worked great I stopped by day after and he had like 100+ calls and I just so happened to put his address so had ppl stopping in his yard and shit with trailers to pick up vehicles lol :D

Remember that time a few years ago somebody spoof called you with Brook's number?

I had nothing to do with it but uh, yeah.

It's stupid easy to do.
