We did a trip from interstate side of hurricane to the top...then down harmon den to the interstate the down to the waterville exit thru the goat trail thru 12mile
I plan on being there with my 7 year old son who loves it in there if nothing changes.
We could go in from the top & then across 12 mile into Cataloochee & not back track anywhere but whatever is good with me..... never hit the Goat Trail, looking forward to giving it a try.
I will be taking my 5 year old with me. I think smittybronco4's trip sounds fun. My Commando is in the middle of an axle swap and transmission change. I hope I can take it, this snow is killing me.
the goat trail is not too bad just the entrance is a little rough but after that its ok... ive got my bronco done just workin the bugs out.. hopefully the weather will be ok for the trip...
Cool my lil stock Trooper on 31s & open diffs I didn't know if it would do the Goat Trail but it has really surprised me how well it goes. I did the Welder Trail in Mtn. City in it with over a foot of snow & only got stuck once.
been thinking about taking my kid on an easy ride. this trip sounds like a good time. would this be a kid friendly ride? is there a place close i can leave a truck and trailer?
These are very kid friendly. I was going to take my 5 year old boy. There is a place to park a trailer but your vehicle will need to be road legal because there will be some road riding between trails.
I'm taking my stock Trooper & 7 year old son, we will probably have another passenger or 2 with us but not sure yet. he & I will be there though with bells on & ready to rock!
had a ball great people, great weather, great ride. I'll get pics and vid as soon as i can. Thanks to all that went we'll have too set up another ride. hope everyone made it home ok.
