Hurricane Helene

This makes me wonder if there are any more still missing?

I keep seeing post from Precision Grading I think it is of him and his “team” working on rebuilding up there. Also saw where he got scammed on a dozer. From what I gather he got a donation link set up to fund it. Surprised he hasn’t found anything yet. But then again he might have and just kept it to himself and authorities.

Heard reports of a body found in Weaverville area but don't know much past that
There was a body found in the French Broad by two fishermen a couple days or so ago. They discovered it near the Flynn Branch area of Woodfin. That should be on the railroad side of the river either above or below the Craggy Damn.

There were people up there in those mountains who did not exist. They went up there to disappear and that's exactly what they did. Who knows how many bodies are going to be found.

On a side note I'm still helping clean up. Today it was a campground they got destroyed. I sliced up all of these camper frames so that we can put them on a trailer. I ran out of oxygen before I could finish. So I'm back up there Monday to finish up.

Exactly. Also the homeless population and such.

I’m confused.
“Traditionally, there is a cost-sharing model with a 75% federal absorption of costs to 25% for states, but that was changed under the Biden administration to match the costs 100%.”
So match 100% means split 50/50. Previously it was 75% Federal and 25% State? Sounds like Biden made it worse, and Trump is making it 0% Federal, 100% State?

It implies but does not state that… I wonder if there is something in the background they aren’t speaking

I see a few sites including liberal politifact claiming fema will cover 90% but trump denied 100%

He aiso provided assistance to Ohio from the train spill 3.5 years after the fact, so Trump bashing news articles aside, I call bs

Good points

Here is what fema says also

Your tax dollars at work. Principal at my kids school sent out a notice that we could apply for hurricane debris cleanup so I applied a few weeks ago. These guys have been all over the county for the past few months. It’s the most .gov thing you’ve ever seen though. Army Corps of Engineers guy showed up out of nowhere Sunday to walk my property with these other ladies that were “safety monitors” It thundered about 20 miles away so they had to get in their cars for 30 minutes. He left and never came back so the monitors and tree crew just sat around for a few hours. Did a repeat yesterday. Crew showed up and literally sat in their trucks for half a day waiting on the ACOE guy before they left.

Looks like maybe three guys doing actual work on the skid steer, grapple truck and a chainsaw, and four people monitoring them while they work.
