Several reasons really.
-Knees are bad, and I need to save them to keep working.
-Increasing complexity of the product. I'm not brilliant, but not dumb.
But the product is now smarter than I am.

We have been looking at one for about A month now.
While out and about running errands yesterday, it went from fine to acting up in minutes.
Just the latest in troubles with this one.

We were at the right place, at the right time .... I guess.
Soooo, we bought a new ( to us, 2016 Kia) car ...... and paid for the bumper to bumper warranty.

From now on ..... it's just brakes jobs and dirt simple Samurais for me.

Congrats!!!

Pay close attention to the warranty. You MUST have every single service they "recommend" done, at the intervals they require, and have the work done by an "approved" garage, or the warranty is void

My information ONLY applies to Kia, and is only related to engine claims (outside of Magnuson-Moss warranty act) as I've had 2 friends find this out the hard way with that company where the engine took a shit long before 100k

Yeah, we're on our second Kia. This one a Sedona mini-van. Love it, it's like driving a space ship compared to my Wrangler.

But Warranty's suck, we bought one and I really regret it.

Anyone know if you can sell one back? :)

Hey! Look what I found in .5 seconds searching my own question.

Why you might want to cancel that extended car warranty

Car shoppers are often pressured into buying an extended auto warranty — so-called because it kicks in to cover repairs after the new-car warranty expires — even though they don’t know their odds of using it or what it really costs.

For those with buyer’s remorse, there’s good news — most warranties can be canceled and you’ll get a prorated amount refunded.

The question then becomes, do I need that extended warranty I bought? And, if not, how do I get my money back?

My wife bought a Kia Spectra brand new in 06’ and we put 200k trouble free miles on that car.

1 alternator
1 radiator, thermostat.
Batteries and tires
Plugs wires and timing belt once.

Other than a few other normal wear items, no issues. In fact, I sold that car to @Curtis_H sister and I believe she is STILL driving it!

Congrats!!!

Google kia engine issues....holy cow!!! I' know more than 5 people who've had the engine crap out while under warranty. One buddy of mine was a tech for them and quit because or having to do so many engine replacements under warranty pay. He's back at Honda.

All I know is that if you drive down I-85 near Ron's house, there's a great big sign on the side of the road that says "KIA Blvd - 1 Mile", which is kinda morbid, IMHO. They should have named it Veteran's Blvd or Memorial Highway or something like that.

I just got Educated Here! I been wondering what the 100K / 10 year,Warranty, offered by Hyundia - Kia, says, as compared to the 36/60 GM warranty? The Commercials Don't mention, you have to Buy the Warranty! And First I've heard of them having Problems. :stupid:
