I hate engineers

F360 timing belt needs the interior of the car removed.
F355 needs the engine out for belt service.
I’ve blocked out what it takes to change ac compressor on a gallardo. I had to remove the engine of a gallardo to change the serpentine belt.
Lambo is the worst in engineering for maintenance. 6 or 7 plugs to drain the oil. After taking off the belly pans that are secured with 80 fasteners ranging from t20 t25 t30 10mm.

More curiosity than anything...but when high end cars like that get serviced...how many of the owners can afford the car, but can’t afford the car? Just a ballpark percentage. Just hearing some of the service costs from friends that have Mercedes make me think I’ll be a life long domestic guy. Couldn’t imagine when you start talking the $200k+ cars.

Who in their right mind puts the thermostat UNDER the intake manifold.
The same one who puts the starter for a Caddi NorthStar under the intake.

Reminds me of an alternator change about 15 years ago on a 1996 Monte Carlo Z34 with 3.4 dohc. Book called for a little over 8 hours. Had to lower the front subframe with engine and transaxle about 10 or 12 inches just to put your hands on the alternator. It was so secluded in the engine bay it had a plastic air duct to bring cooling air into the alternator.
Just make sure the steering wheel is locked in place before you drop the subframe. If you've been there you know what I mean.

Most all of our customers are GTG. Many of them have several cars. Many have been customers for years and multiple cars. Generally if you own a high end italian, you’ve had some success in business, are conservative, and have worked hard to get there. Some folks are like you mention, but they reveal themselves pretty quick, and get weeded out.

Jeep 4.0 rear mains are 2pcs. Crank position sensor is a pain but easy with a ratchet wrench.
Jeep yes. Everything else for the most part is one piece. Yeah after you do a few ckp, I agree. I use 1.5 ft extension and a swivel socket personally. Zj/wj are worse.

The same one who puts the starter for a Caddi NorthStar under the intake.
so does Toyota 5.7.

This is always my thought when I see people driving older high-end luxury cars. I always imagine that everything is broken.

There's a lot of FWD cars that have an engine mount inside the loop of the timing belt, so removing an engine mount is common.

Not the issue. All the accessories (alt,a/c,etc.) mount to a plate on the passenger side of the engine with the timing belt outside of the plate.
Minimal clearance from engine to plate and plate to fender. If you could move the plate it would be easy, but the plate follows the shape of the engine and fender.
