But I don’t have much choice right now. I’m convalescing from knee replacement surgery 9 days ago. The pain for the first few days kept me from being bored. But even though pain is more manageable now I still have a lot of down time where I can’t be very active because it sets me back if I push it.
I’ve watched all the shows and episodes on Velocity, I don’t care for series shows so no binging for me. I can run thru my social media in no time. Once I can sit more comfortably at my desk I have a few quotes and jobs to plan. I just wish I could jump in “knee” deep in my shop and get some stuff done!
Hell I can’t even go play with my dog because all he wants to do is remove my damn bandage! plus that big sucker plays rough and I can’t do that right now. I’m petting him through the shop window and he’s like okay time to come on in what are you waiting for?
Okay that took 10
Minutes, what’s next?

Care for books? I had my knee surgery last year. I had already read the first book of this series, then found the 2nd and 3rd on YouTube. So I laid around listening to this excellent book while doing a little work from my laptop.

It’s about an EMP going off and it’s based right here in NC up on Black Mountain. So when they reference places like Greensboro and Charlotte, it’s a real distance in your mind. It was the most suspenseful, captivating and quite honestly the most terrifying book I ever read. The break down of society is mind bending, highly recommend it!

It’s called “One Second After” then there is “One Year After” and the “The Final Day”

I've had to sit on the couch for the past 2 days. I'm not really into watching TV but we started watching Ozark on Netflix.

Read one second after a few years ago. I enjoyed it. I can bring it by Richard if you want to read it.

You read the other 2? The 3rd and final one was just released I couple years ago I think. Major twist at the end when it’s all wrapped up.

I don't have the attention span to read books. I went in and took the poop shovel with me and played with the dog for a bit. Got the mail, talked to the neighbor, and now I'm ready for a nap!:D

When I know I’ll be sitting around for a while (did for about 2.5 months earlier this year), I generally take that time to digitize/automate (in excel) any manual files/documents I still operate with...like family budget, snow balled amortization tables on debt, investment/retirement tables, etc etc. Create forecasting/reporting/tracking models that’ll make my life easier for the side gigs. I scan and save the 40ish years worth of auto brochures/manuals/albums I have. Back up/sort/modify photos/videos. Read/watch videos/research stuff I wanna learn to do or will be useful on future projects.

Edit...hell, could even capitalize on some of those work from home schemes where you make like .10 per survey or $1 per processed email or whatever.

Hope your knee replacement goes better than mine did. 6 plus years and still gives me issues, and, always will. But, on the Brightside, (for you) I talked to many people who had a replacement, and most all had no issues and was better off.
I like the series stuff. Spartacus, Longmire, life below zero, highway to(from?) hell, and so on. Watch a bunch of movies, try to keep up on FB, and NC, dogs and some YouTube movies and old shows too.
Hope yours heals well, and fast!

Broke my foot July 8th ....... 9 of the longest freakin weeks of my life!

If you're like me, you like being productive. I can't see myself wasting time on a puzzle or watching a crap load of tv.

Do you have any easy-ish projects to work on? Maybe some wiring or similar that you can do seated and stationary? I like making interior or dash wiring (out of the vehicle) as it isn't filthy dirty and can be done on a table. If you can't do anything like that, maybe researching something/self education, though I get the ADD thing. You can do that in chunks of time mixed with easier projects of some kind that can be done in the house, not just the garage

I have confidence it will be good. I had my right one done by same doc 2 years ago.

I can drive now. Just don’t feel like it. I actually feel like crap unless I’m flat on my back with knee in the air. Had to do Cmas at my brothers house an hour away on Sunday. After about three hours and food was just getting ready I said “time for me to go!” HadChristmas at my house today and sitting up eating and doing gifts wore me out with pain before long. My house, I can lay down,
My wife rocked it this year taking care of me and all of Christmas mostly by herself, great job baby!
