I have this idea.....

Even have the perfect trailer to sit it it. I also have a 116a3 that if the fenders were removed (or trimmed for more space between them) it would fit on as well.

Then he would need a crane to load it. Oh, wait...:D

Plus, there's Sarge. I mean, he's worth the trip in itself.

I'm just afraid it would be a dog to pull with my cherokee for any trips it would be worth taking to.

I figured my s250 weighed right about 1100-1200 fully configured, . Shell, plus window, bed, cushions, shelves rado, TV, ac/heat, etc.

I used it either on my flatbed with Jeep behind, or in my M101 trailer.

Square box catches a lot if air. Be a hard tow with a (little) Chorkee. I had thought about building an air dam/deflector.

there are soo many forums where they take the harbor freight folding trailer and turn it into a teardrop. I have a feeling this is something that would be along the lines of what you are looking for.

Ha! I sent the same link to him yesterday.

I think that’s the best way to start. Take some 2x4 and plywood to make a platform for a mattress and have storage under it. Could even use door hinges to make it fold up.

Also, if you need a smaller (but still big enough) bed you can lookup what they call a 3/4 mattress. That’s what’s in my camper, it’s 48”x75”.

Just a thought, and I know you said you are doing this on a budget, but....

There are several companies out there who make budget "teardrop " trailers for around $2500. I know thats more than you wanted to spend, but they hold their value extremely well.

Runaway tear drops, and myminitrailer are a few that come to mind. A few more companies on facebook that are a little less expensive....

You need stuff. I have stuff. I also know some stuff. I have great ideas for what you're looking to build. Water proof and air tight.

what did you build. i may tap into your insight and experience this summer. have an idea i need to get outta my head and into the real world.
