I learned an interesting physiology lesson today

Am I alone with the statement: I pee in shower?
I do it every day!
My wife was pretty horrified when she found out. I told her, then don't lick the base of the shower around the drain. I at least aim for that.

So sorry to laugh, but I did chuckle too. Glad you didn't crack your coconut on the toilet rim or sink...that would bring the suck.

So from what I have read, the biggest concern about micturition syncope isn't anything related to your heart or head, but the probability of hurting yourself in the fall. o_O
And supposedly its estimated that 8% of all fainting episodes are micturition related. That's a lot of dudes passing out just b/c they unloaded at the wrong time!

Makes sense...and explains why I have found myself getting light headed once in a while when I break the seal! ...I mean, I never ever drink that much anymore...

Yes, same mechanism. The vagus nerve controls the slowing down of the heart. When you bare down to poop it squeezes that nerve. Slows your heart rate, and with some older folks the heart rate never comes back up and that's all she wrote
Yep responded to several natural deaths where it was an elderly person and they were found on the toilet.
