i need a new bank

I had problems with bbt also. FU** that bank. NC State Employees Credit Union for me. If someone in your family is a state employee they can get you in.

BBandtT has always been good to me. Like someone said just get to know your local branch people. I think it really depends on how much money you have on deposit there in how you are treated. $10=bad $10000=better $100,000=Kiss your ass best

I switched from Suntrust to BB&T about a year ago and never looked backed. BBT has ATM's everywhere I go and sound leadership.

X a million on credit union.
Last I check NCSECU was the only place you can still get over 2% earnings on savings/money market accounts.

I've had all my banking with NC SECU since I started banking...I think I got it at 16 and I'm 19 now, so 3 years. I love my online banking because I can check my account balance and it instant! I very rarely have to go to the bank for anything and when I do it's always pretty easy stuff. My debit card was hacked twice and I got my money back very quickly and with no hassle. In fact, they alerted me to the situation and were very eager to help me as much as possible. Oh...and I over drafted like 75 bucks one time and didn't get charged a single cent! Just had to cover the 75 bucks, but that's to be expected. The $1 a month fees are great.

They're pretty much awesome. I just took out a $2500 loan too  Gotta start my credit somewhere right? Not bad for 19.

A good friend of mine kept getting screwed at BB&T, so we went and set him up at Marine Federal Credit Union. A great bank and close to home. Another good one around here for the military folks is Navy Fed.

Credit Union.

State Employees, any FCU will work.

Coastal Federal Credit Union, have been with them since 2002, and have had no issues at all.

We opend the account and then applied for a car loan with in 5 minutes, appoved and at a decent low interest rate. ( wasn't able to do anything with CCB, and was fee'd for small stupid stuff )

Coastal is growing and has their own ATM network, but I use CashPoints a lot, after the 5th ATM trans action on a NON CFCU ATM, you are charged a $1 fee, except at Cash Points it seems. loan rates are reasonable, checking ( GoGreen ) pays interest if you use you ATM/debit card at least 12 times a month ( which isn't a problem between my wife and myself, we hardly carry cash anymore )

CFCU will allow anyone, you don't have to have a sponsoring employer or group.

I'm with Coastal as well. Great customer service and most of the fees I've incurred have been $1 each. Their Go Green checking is one of the highest rates you're going to find today at 4.01% APY. I moved all the money from savings into checking for it.
