Anybody got some good pictures of CJ5 cages. I've got one to build and need some inspiration. Most 5 cages end up being tall and boxy and I'd like to stay away from that look.
I bought that cage off a guy up near Elkin, NC a couple years ago because it was way cheap and I didn't have time to build one at the time. I guess it isn't my favorite design but for the time and money I have in it you can't beat it. I've yet to really find out how good it is built but it will happen sooner or later. I havent even had time to tie the back end into the frame but I really need to get it done.Greg smith built the second one and the third one. The second one was in my jeep but i didnt like so it got sold.
I'm diggin the third one. Thats pretty nice looking. fortunately I don't have to worry about a back seat too. Keep'um coming.
mbalbritton I've got you're old cj5 in the shop right now. Thats a pretty clean jeep you had.
Ben, where did you get that pic of the second Jeep? I was going to post a pic of my cage but that is my cage. U know who owned it then?
Just a thought, not sure how to make a design really.
Basically start like a cab, about halfway back right behind the seats come down about half way almost straight then slant back toward the rear, brace it however can be done safely. I think this would look great just not sure how to design it/draw it out.
