Anybody got some good pictures of CJ5 cages. I've got one to build and need some inspiration. Most 5 cages end up being tall and boxy and I'd like to stay away from that look.

I'm diggin the third one. Thats pretty nice looking. fortunately I don't have to worry about a back seat too. Keep'um coming.

mbalbritton I've got you're old cj5 in the shop right now. Thats a pretty clean jeep you had.

I'm probably gonna make the front look like this one I did a while back but mainly the rear is where I'm really having trouble.

Greg smith built the second one and the third one. The second one was in my jeep but i didnt like so it got sold.

not mine just found them for Mars, I do love Cj5's when you comp cut the rear you can just follow that door curve... just looks soo smooth. way better flow than another jeep getting comp cut.

I bought that cage off a guy up near Elkin, NC a couple years ago because it was way cheap and I didn't have time to build one at the time. I guess it isn't my favorite design but for the time and money I have in it you can't beat it. I've yet to really find out how good it is built but it will happen sooner or later. I havent even had time to tie the back end into the frame but I really need to get it done.

Ya, pretty clean. Please ignore a couple booger welds that I put on it :D

I definitely think I'm liking the sloped back better especially with a streched wheelbase. The green and black one funk skunk posted is clean and simple and probably the strech Im going for and it looks really nice.
I did a few simple drawings in paint just to get an idea of some different profiles. What do you guys think about a forward leaning B pillar kinda like a PS bruiser chassis?

and then the top will look similar to this.

What do you guys think of that?

Just a thought, not sure how to make a design really.

Basically start like a cab, about halfway back right behind the seats come down about half way almost straight then slant back toward the rear, brace it however can be done safely. I think this would look great just not sure how to design it/draw it out.

Thinking something like that, just not sure how it would function.
Something outside the box though, everyone seems to have a basic cage, lots of straight tubing, minimal bends. Im sure it could be made functional while giving it some unique bends.
