I found these while scouting out some land in Gaffney, SC last week. I went back yesterday and found a major clue that is probably a giveaway, but I want to see if anyone here knows just by seeing these shots:

That looks big for deer, no? Cow?

The property I was looking at had more deer sign on it than any other piece of land I have looked at. I have killed 35 to 40 deer in my life and while my first thought was that it was a deer, I swear it looked too big. Those are my car keys in the picture for reference, and no, I did not find antlers. I found something near by, but forgot to take a picture of it and since I'm not 100% sure what I was holding (the clue), I didn't want to post to sway any opinions on what the animal is.

After doing some google research, I have a good idea, but I was hoping someone else would know right away. If no one knows, I'll post what else I found and what I think it is.

Pig..............can I come hunt them w you? :D

You posted while I was replying above. When I was in the woods yesterday I found a 3 1/2" to 4" "horn" by the bones, or so I thought. Then after looking at it some more, I believe it was a tusk. I googled up a wild boar's skull and it is spot on. Since I wasn't positive, I thought I would post up the pics.

Good guess mommucked! I think you are right, I didn't know they were in Gaffney.

If you find any big skulls, hang them on treebranches stuck in the spinehole, up against the treetrunk faceing out and they'll scare the crap outa peeps

I found a boar skull once mountain biking on an old trail. It was perfect condition except a bullet hole in the head. I hung it on a tree in the yard with a nail through the hole. And yeah, it would freak out folks when they came over.

If the bullet holes in the forehead it was probly a farm pig shot before butchering and the head was dumped. If the pigs are feral you'll find sign of them feeding, rooting and digging up the ground in low areas and worn trails on the property. Their tracks can look like big deer tracks.

What's ironic about that is I came home thinking I have never seen so many deer trails, tracks and mess all in one area. After doing some google imaging,I bet over 50% of what I saw was wild pig.

i was thinking about that on my way home, thats exactly what i was gonna say, now that being said me an mommucked promise not to hurt your deer if you invite us down there for some bacon removal!!! haha (may even save a few fawns)

scared to death!!!!!

I will come hunt them for you too. Pm me the loc..

There are def wild piggies in SC and in Gaffney.
We have a piece of property in Gaffney and it is nearly over run with Pigs.
Between me my dad and a few friends we killed over 60 last year.

You'll be surprised how little they can be and have huge jaw and tusks.

Weve been killing 50lbers

Heck yea! Pigs eat anything they can find or catch so anything on the ground is on their menu including Quail and Turkey eggs/hatchlings, baby Rabbits and fawns. They also eat ALOT of stuff deer eat and can cause alot of erosion of topsoil in hilly areas. If you put out corn for deer the hogs will "hog" it all!!

It's illegal to randomly hunt wild boar in TN and I feel will soon happen in other states for the reason people import them JUST to hunt them... It's a reverse psychology that I think states shot theirselves over and TN realized.

It's legal in TN to only hunt on your own property with written permission from Wildlife Commission.

Just FYI... Hunt away for they make awesome head mounts!
