Interesting 5th-wheel trailer solution

I can only imagine the engineering meeting......" yeah we'll clip a gooseneck hitch to the rain gutters, yeah yeah! That s*** will work! "

I think this might be a nice product if you had a transport company or pulled random trailers often, but I cant see why someone would spend the coin for this when they could just buy the truck/trailer that worked with each other?

It's nice and all but the reason why 5th wheels and goose necks exist in the first place is because the towed load is heavier than a normal wieght-carrying ball hitch would carry and you need a heavy-duty vehicle to pull it. The Gross Combined Weight Rating of this tow dolly and whatever huge trailer it being pulled will probably exceed whatever is being used to tow with. I wonder what that thing weighs, it would subtract from the GCWR of the towing vehicle.

Fun idea but limited use. May be nice behind a capable SUV (Diesel Excursion, V8 Sub/Tahoe) but not much else.

Or maybe a Cummins powered Dodge charger...
