My conversation with my mom this morning made me think of this thead. She called me on her way to work just to talk, and she was constantly pushing one of the buttons on the iphone so it kept beeping randomly as she talked. How does that even happen on a phone conversation on a cell phone?

Of course, that was probably more of a mom problem than an iPhone problem, but it still made me laugh thinking of this thread.

the G2 will make it two days with medium usage.

Exactly. I have to use my phone non stop all day long to get it down to 20 or 30%. Everybody I work with on iPhones are looking for chargers at 4pm.

Got my iphone 6 ordered on the phone with verizon just now. Lost unlimited data but they gave me 6gb on my phone alone for 29/month. Went with the 64gb phone this time instead of the 16gb. Supposed to be delivered next saturday.

When my beard grows out it mutes my phone all the time it's annoying as hell.

wow can't believe you got such a good delivery date for just now ordering.

Most people that I have talked with are looking at 10/7 and 10/14 for theres through verizon.

I despise iPhones with every fiber of my being. My parents and one of my brothers have them and every time my mom asks me to help her with something on her phone I want to throw it out the window. I have an S4 and I love it.

My wife also has a couple of iPads that they use for her patients at work. They irritate both of us beyond belief. I told her to get Android tablets instead, but the people at her work talked her into getting the iPads. She keeps saying how much she wishes she got a Android tablet.

Hell, I have an iPod nano I got from my work for my 5-year anniversary and it annoys me so bad that when I exercise I use my phone for music instead.

Enough with my Apple rant. Go buy your iPhone, and don't forget your skinny jeans. :p

I used to hate iphones, until I got one. Mostly because of the hipster image associated. But I can say that after having a samsung "smart" phone and switching to an iphone, I will avoid samsung products if at all possible; and will hopefully never have another android smartphone regardless of manufacturer. My last android phone was so slow after having a little over a year I could barely use it. It would take almost a minute just to open the camera, it was so slow ansering the phone that you would miss calls. I tried to throw it out my car window one day, but it was plugged into the cigarette lighter becasue the battery life was measured in minutes (not hours). I have had my iphone 4s since they first came out almost 3 years ago. It works as well now as it did when new, however it does seem slow (only 3g service) when compared to a 4g LTE phone. I would like a new phone, especially a phone that supports the LTE service, but this 3 year old turd still works great. I guess I'll keep it, mostly because I dont own any skinny jeans and dont have enough vacation time to camp out at the apple store.

The G2 does have good battery life, but when you compare the 5S to its largest competitor (S4), its basically the same.

interesting. but of course it all depends on type and amount of usage.

I have a company supplied iphone 5 and I keep the Location services turned off expect for when when my Map app is running. I spend the majority of my time in and around a wifi network. I use it constantly for work calls, emails, surfing, etc. I charge it every night and I have about 50% battery life left. That's 6:30am to 10pm off the charger.

that being said, the past few weeks I have been off site for work and no where near a wifi connection and I've noticed that my usage has gone up TREMENDOUSLY. by the time I get home, I have the 20% life left notice on my screen. Nothing else changed about my usage except burning up the LTE service vs. the Wifi connection. Now that I've been back at my home office and on my normal schedule, battery life is back to where it was.

I have both android and apple. They are on two different carriers so a direct comparison isnt fair. They are different but I don't find one way better than the other.

As for the iPhone 6. It will be a while for me. Im still on a 4s and a SIII. I remember I thought I was a baller when I got my SIII when it first came out. Haven't had it long enough to get an upgrade and its already two generations old.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Everyone with an iPhone is a fawking expert on which shit you need to have turned off/on and which apps to install or not install to get the best battery life.

I don't do shit. The GPS is on, it's not on, wifi is on, I don't give a fawk.

Y'all can deny it all you want, but the CNET pregame coverage of the Apple Very Special Event was a bunch of nerds arguing about how to get the best battery life. "OMG, sometimes I realize that Foursquare has the GPS turned on all the time, NO WONDER it's dead after lunch, some of these apps are just terrible, it's not the phone's fault at all."

I listened to about four minutes of that shit before I decided I had better things to do with the rest of my life.

I have a crackberry for work and an old ass samsung slide phone that I inherited from my wife when she got an iphone. I dont give a crap what kind of phone I have as long as it works, dosent have to stay plugged in all day, and can send/recieve calls, texts, and has a camera. All that other crap dosent concern me.

Ended up with a bad lightning cable. Glad my wife has a 5s I could borrow hers. Will be getting one in the mail Monday. Got it all set up and it's a whole lot better than my 4

So.... your battery went dead while you were trying to "set it up"? Interesting.

I have an HTC One (M7). I use my phone for what I would consider normal use; internet, several calls a day, facebook, txt, streaming radio(alot), etc... My battery usually last me a full day with at least 20% charge at the end of the day. Killing all the apps running in the background helps.
