It's on like Donkey Kong....Syria....

It seems we have forgotten our place and the need for the U.N.
HAHAHA UN hasn't done anything without us in a long time.

They hate us because we went there to begin with. We need to stop being the world police. We have learned nothing.
We don't really know what's happening there, all we know is what the media and government wants us to believe.

What we do know is sadly lots of people will die.

I don't think we should he there. This is their problem, they need to handle it.
I agree. Let them kill themselves if that's what they want.

I think the concern is, if they are releasing chemicals on their own ppl. Is only a matter of time before it comes here.

Still coming, even more cause we don't mind our business.

To be fair, they could come in and take over New York City without us losing much. But then I want them to fight their way out of the rest of New York state. Good luck with that.
Except for our,and a lot of the worlds, economy.Im sure the NYSE would have to take a day or 100 off.:D

I still haven’t turned on the news or really read anything about this. Got a text from someone about it last night just as I was about to return a phone call to a SF friend that had been working on his Jeep all day and still was. He hadn’t heard anything as he’s a recluse and only answers his phone for work and a handful of close friends. When I told him what I’d heard was going on he busted out horse laughing. I didn’t ask any questions but I know he was across the pond gathering intel for over 6 mos recently.

I feel certain there are other reasons than what the “news” and “government” have told the public as to why this happened.

And @Jeff B there are entire countries and millions of people around the world that hate the US for various reasons. One I find interesting is our tolerance for gays and this country has came to glorify it like it’s the new gospel or the like:shaking:

The UN has concluded in the past that the Syrian rebels, not Asaad, weaponized gas. I'd bet the house that is the case again. Asaad is fighting the same fucking terrorists that we're fighting in Iraq and Eqypt but the US want's to oust him and set up another weak ass (but friendly to the west) regime.

We already tried staying out or retreating from unstable countries in the Middle East. The terrorists move in take control and take over assests (oil). I would rather fight them there instead of here in New York

Note, by your own admission, the terrorists "move in" as we move out. To move in they obviouslyly weren't there to begin with. Sadaam fucked those bastards up, they wouldn't have dreamed of setting up shop in Iraq when he was in charge. Not to say he was a good dude, he was definitely an inhumane sadistic brute, but he ran a tight ship in a barbaric society.

Yes, the same terrorists that are using gas against Asaad's people will use it against us if given the chance.

assad in power means putin gets to keep selling natural gas to europe, assad out of power means qatar gets to start selling natural gas to europe. if it were not for a natural gas pipeline dispute you could drop screaming syrian babies into vats of battery acid and nobody would give a shit.

Yup. The wars are for control of the means of production and resources (i.e., $$, i.e, power) between us and our interests and Russia and theirs, as well as China. The images of the horrors are there to get our approval to send our loved ones and tax dollars.

Syria is one of a few countries left that doesn’t trade oil in US dollars, much like Iraq. That changed the second we went there and so it will be in Syria as well. Iran should be worried since they fall in the same boat. War makes money. McCain, Graham, Burr, Clinton, they can all feel their wallets getting fatter already.

Wouldnt be too hard. Cumo neutered NY.

I dont think we need to invade Syria, but if it was proven that Assad gassed his own, I say send a few missiles to his known location and call it a day. Unless they attack us or close allies, we should not get involved. However, if they attack, we should rail holy hell on them until every possible military installation is nothing more than a molten crater and every combatant is a pile of bloody hamburger. Then pack up and go home. With the technology we have now, there is no need to invade in masse, we only need a few boots on the ground to confirm total annihilation and smother any small resistance. Anything more than 20 or 30 enemy, lob a couple more tomahawks.
