[Jan 25, 2014] Jan 25th work day RSVP (URE forest)

A few of us from UNCC Offroad Club will be there as well. We have seven people coming for sure, five of us with our rigs. There is also a possibility of five additional people and two additional rigs. We can help wherever it's most needed. We can do anything EXCEPT go up the front side of Daniel, we can get up the back side though, if need be we'll throw everybody in the Jeeps and Land Cruiser to get up the back side if we have to.

guys, i have a 74 bronco, do you all have an issue if i ride with you. i would consider myself an ameteur but my bronco a little more advanced then I. let me know if so and and location/time specifics. thanks.

Yeah man that's fine by me, we're meeting at McDonalds in Harrisburg at 7, then heading down around 745 to get to the outpost on time. I'm Josh, I drive a silver 4 door Cherokee. There will also be a green TJ, silver Land Cruiser, and a charcoal color Toyota pickup with a tan can back camper top.

I'm about to head down and have some breakfast at the outpost. See everyone shortly.

We had a good turn out, over 60 people showed up! The Daniel crew completed everything we had on the list. Then we headed on back for some killer stew. Which really hit the spot after freezing out butts off!! Big thanks to Snappy for feeding us all. It was a great way to start off the first work day.

Thanks to all 67 that came out today! I will apologize up front for a little disorganization today, we had way more so up that i had planned on! We have a plan going forward so this doesnt happen again. That said...
I think we had 9 clubs represented if i counted right. The work requested was 100% completed! And everyone was smiling even though it was cold.

If you where at the work please pm your choice for workday mvp, i overlooked that while serving. This is for the $50 4wheel parts gift cert. Do not vote for me(i am not eligible due to my post in taking care of it).

Ditto post on this thread...

I cut my pics down to 56 (yeah, I tend to take a lot when out in the wild! LOL!!), here are links to slideshow and raw images so the thread doesn't get too bogged down with embedded images.

Things *should* be set to download originals, but if it's jacked for some reason and there are pics you want just drop me a PM or email and I can send them to you.
Enjoy!

BIG THANKS to everyone who came out for the workday! And THANK YOU snappy and krzyabncanuk for all your organizing work! If we could have this sort of turnout every workday and get this much accomplished, I would feel better about our chances of not only keeping but expanding our OHV opportunities in the forest!

I would like to thank all the new clubs out there stepping up to the plate to take on a trail. We need you guys out here badly. I would really like to have the problem one day of having 3-4 clubs per trail working on them. I helped encourage 2 clubs to step up to the plate and will gladly give them any guidance / help they need to get going in the right direction for getting the work done on the trails. One group is a bunch of college guys and that is exactly what we need, cause one day you will leave that college and then go out into other cities and other trail systems and hopefully take what you can learn here and implement it there.

I didn't mean to be to much of a slave driver, I apologize if I came off that way, little bit of the Corps coming out I guess. I will tone it down.

On behalf of UNCC Off Road, I'd like to thank you for helping us get set up, we're glad to finally be taking a part in giving back to the off road community that's given us so much over the time we've all been wheeling.

The work day was a blast!! Hopefully we'll have a turnout like this for all of them, I enjoyed meeting and working with you guys, and thanks Snappy for the stew! It was so good I had 4 bowls of it!!! Haha

I have had to tone it down. Was still wearing my DS hat out there and I think a few people were a little upset. This was a few years back.
