well about 12 years ago i bought a stock 97 TJ to replace my broken down 98 Dodge ram... it ran, but since i abused the hell out of it pulling a 26 foot boat in florida every weekend for around 8 years the trans was going and the rear end also.. and i felt it was time for a change since i sold the boat in the move to NC....
here she is completely stock except for a 3" rusty lift that i put on in the parking lot of the apartment complex i was living in at the time and a set of BFG 31's i picked up used that still had good tread left on them... our first trip to URE
this isn't my first jeep and not my first time offload... i got the bug back in high school but florida was a much different type of offload, and being young and dumb took its toll on the Cherokee
she sat for a couple of years because well, life happens.. and the sun took its toll on the paint..
here she is after 33" goodyear wranglers and some Warn rock sliders that a friend of min had from a previous build and a top that was donated to me by a very good fried that was trading in his sahara and forgot to take the soft top with him to the dealer.
that was about 3 years ago...
somewhere in there i bought some Corbeau suspension seats cause my drivers seat was shredded and really was uncomfortable to drive...
also the top started coming apart so i went with a rampage frameless top to try and keep some water out of the old girl
last year i ripped out the smelly carpet and used a DIY truck bed liner on the inside of the tub that turned out really great...
fast forward to about a month ago.... i finally drove the old girl to work, and was concerned about the clunking that was going on... upon investigation i found that my track bars were falling apart
so it was time for an upgrade
rough country long arm upgrade was on the way
did this in my garage on a weekend..
wanted a headlight upgrade because everyone knows how bad the sealed beam jeep headlights are.. so off to evilbay i went to pick up some cheap chinese h4 housings...
but, being the cheeseball that i am and i love zombie movies... i saw the green LED housings and for 35 buck, gave the jeep some "ZOMBIE EYES"
also while on evilbay, found some knockoff bushwhacker flat style fenders and a el-cheapo light bar with brackets
installed some switches in the dash where the ashtray goes
and some Zombie Green stickers that a friend of mine made for me
here is how she looks as of last week...
i still have a couple things left to do... i am going to start cutting the dash for a double din stereo install because i really want to have GPS maps on a touch screen.. and since i hate all the radio stations here i need my pandora and all of my music... well, just because...
