Finally got back to work on the buggy today. Got the t-case mount done. Tomorrow the goal is to see if the seat mounts we built awhile back will work with the new seats.
Decided to cut the floors out today. Kept having to cut more and more out for clearance for things so said screw it and went nuts with the death wheel. It's just a rough cut for now but will eventually be cut out up to the firewall.
Got more of the floor cut out, just a few places left to finish up. Won't start building the new floor until all the other fab work is done.
Today I got the cooler mount and storage box mounts done. Next step is getting the transmission cooler and steering cooler locations figured out and mounts built
Been working on it here and there, trying to make as much progress as I can when I can. Several things aren't picture worthy but here are some pics of some of the progress.
Made a mount for the transmission shifter. Made a shifter for the front t-case and mounted the twin sticks to make sure everything would clear and not have any clearance issues.
Got the exhaust fabbed up today. Got to pick up some exhaust hangers tomorrow. The tip will probably get shortened to match the boat sides once I get those done. Only had one screw up, I cut the 90 at the header too short and had to add a small piece back in.
Sadly, very little. Spent a couple hours on it this morning while it was raining then had to work on closing in the carport this afternoon when the rain stopped.
Today's minor progress. Added a small hoop to the chassis where I cut out for the rear driveshaft. Got the inline radiator cap installed in the coolant pipe. Need to figure out radiator hoses and intake piping along with a long list of other things. Swapped on some rollers so I could put the reds in shed.
I also finally managed to find some more used 37" reds that weren't on the west coast. Found a guy on marketplace in SC that had 3 for sale. Had a buddy pick them up for me, so now I just need to get down to SC and grab them sometime.
Redid the carrier bearing mount, had it way too high before. And @kyleg336 came over and did some arts and crafts to get me some templates for my floor panels and trans tunnel.
