Just an FYI, do not drive around App. State.

Because the University Police are pieces of shit!
Apparently I failed to stop at a redlight when I was turning left. Im sure I stopped, I have a passenger in the car who can attest to it, AND the fact that my Jeep was in neutral, which I never do unless im stopping or stopped.

Its boone, the cops have nothing better to do but give out tickets. Why do you think they have the coolest most high tech stuff out? Its cause they get all that money from tickets and never have to use it on anything else. Don't park on campus either

So you rolled through a red light turning left? or did you mean to put right? im confused, please explain better....

Josh

yah you'll get used to campus poice anywhere, here the speed limit is 20 and don't dare go a mile over that

Ya, supposedly thats what I did...rolled through it turning Left, which I know I didnt do.

What gets me though is...why even bother pulling me over if your just gonna give me a warning violation, considering I didnt even do anything. :shaking:

Pay your ticket in pennies and move on. You'll get used to it. Just wait till you get your first ticket for backing into a parking spot. I always loved that one.

are you serious?! they give tickets for THAT?!

I cant wait till my friend gets one, he backs in EVERYWHERE...

I already have a parking ticket up here too, because apparently, I parked in a "No Parking Zone" that didnt have any signs up to let me know IT WAS NO PARKING...

Welcome to college.

Yep, Welcome to college.
Clemson had this nice online thing where I looked up my "fines" looks like I paid $1200 in parking tickets in 4 years...

They dont get any better either got one last year at a football game and said screw it. When this years IPTAY paperwork came it included the note
"Your contribution and tickets will not be posted until your current bad standing with the campus parking authority has been corrected."

We were in a co-worker's car! The nazi's not only got his license info, but also wrote down our parking pass number and traced it back to us.

odd, they havent fucked with me at all; im driving a dented, beat up, cut up 89 toyota thats missing marker lights, has violent death wobble under 45, speedo dosent work (and i know im speeding in all those 35 and 25 zones), and i dont have doors or sideview mirrors. guess its cause i dont have a jeep

I pulled off from the light at the Conviction Center waaay too hard, and next thing I know, a Boone police car flies up behind me. Tells me my tag is expired. I say "No way." He ran the tag, turns out the sticker was 10 months out of date, but the latest fees had been paid. Didn't write me for anything (I was only doing about 7 over when he got behind me).

With that said, my girlfriend got a ticket for 9 over coming into Boone on 421 where the speed limit drops. She said the cop was right at the sign, and I said "what did you expect?" Haha.

Can they really make a rule about whether you back in or pull in? There is no way that has any grounds. A long truck will back in much better than it will pull in.

The "back in" rule is all about them being able to see yer parking tag w/o havin gto walk around (or get out of their nice warm Security Jeeps). Even here at the WFU Med Center, in the decks they have the same rule - no backing in.
In a word - Yes. It's they're property, they can make whatever rule they want.

Now, if you put that sticker on the front wiindshield and ALWAYS backed in, they should have no complaint, hahaha....

i got pulled on 421 jst inside boone, where hardees is by the movie theater. he pulled up behind me at the stoplight sits there a sec and then pulls into the other lane on my right and told me that i was to get off the road immediately when the light turned green. first time ever being pulled got a ticket for 56-35 AND 78-55, which is bull because it turns 35 like 10 feet from where i stopped

He probably just wanted an excuse to pull you to check for drunk driving. Since he only gave you a warning it means you probably didnt do it.

unless it's changed, i'm pretty sure that stretch drops to 35 before there. still kind of odd you can be written two tickets, but i guess technically he got you breaking the law in two different zones.

i agree most campus police are pretty tough. you've got to consider what they're dealing with though, and also keep in mind what they do is their job. let's be honest, the majority of college kids can be complete asshats, myself included when i was in school (and still now sometimes, lol).

they probably think you're just one of those "good ole boys" comin down the mountain for groceries in that yota.

my high school had the same rule...

no backing in OR pulling through...

just as stupid now as it was then...cause think of the number of accidents that happened when the ENTIRE school was dismissed at the same time, and you had ~1000 cars backing out of parking spots within seconds of each other...

the smart thing, would've been to let people back in, or even pull through, at their leisure in the mornings...

Greg

Boone hassle

you ASU nubees have it all wrong. wait till you find out who ASHE LAKE towing is...

yes, the popo is bad, but wait till youre hungover at an apartment and hear that friggin diesel pull up! :fuck-you:

Gotta wonder about the first time there is an accident, and the offender refuses to pay and blames the school.

You would have a hard time getting a judgment in a Parking Lot.

We had an ongoing struggle with the good folks at Ashe Lake. Our apt. complex was near their "shop" so we were always being patrolled. One weekend with at least 25-30 empty spaces in the lot, we had a buddy's truck blocked in with mine. But we were still only in two spaces. Of course, they just drug mine out of the way and towed his off.

They incurred several flat tires and broken windows from angry students, but I'm sure they couldn't have cared less with all the bank they were making. Parking lot buzzards. :shaking:

Ashe Lake?

All I know of is Hamptons (they tow on campus) and Bills (Or Bobs, cant remember, I think its Bills) who tow basically everything off campus in Boone.

I did extensive research on this before I got my State Farm Parking. I was trying to see if I could find a place to keep my car that the towing people didnt know about. And suprisingly I actually DID find one

Wachovia doesnt have a towing company patrolling like the others do. They are on a call in basis, and never really call in. So I parked there for about a week till state farm opened up. I went back Sunday to pick my car up and they had left me a nice handwritten note telling me nicely to have my car moved out by Monday or they had no choice to tow it. Pretty classy actually.
