Just another YJ build

I bought this Griffin radiator with fans package 1-1.5 years ago. Finally pulled it out of the box for a test fitting. Embarrassing :shaking:

Built a lower radiator mount using a bunch of scrap steel i had laying around. I lined it with some rubber fuel tank strap isolators from a class 8 truck (dumpster digging at work) glued in place with some industrial adhesive. Fits tight in there like a glove.

I went to install the fuel pump/sending unit in the Motobilt fuel cell, and noticed the pick up was about 2-2.25" from the bottom of the tank. I figured it would start sipping air when there was still about 4 gallons of gas left, and be completely sucking air when there was about 3.5 gallons left. Finding that unacceptable, I made a bracket to lower the pump and clamped on a longer piece of hose so the pick-up is now on the bottom of the tank. I also installed the filler cap assembly and roll-over vent valve. I also spent some time tweaking the float bar to get it properly positioned. Maybe I will route all the hoses next weekend.

Man such a sweet low custom jeep! I would totally build a jeep of this style if it were at my house! We just need to get a bunch of us over to your house a couple of weekends to finish this thing up! :beer: Maybe one of the custom fab shops in NC can step in and get this done for you through the resources of NC4x4! @BRUISER might have some good connections!

I called a few shops about this time last year. Everyone was too busy to take it on. I followed up with one of them again in December last year (4 months ago). He was still very busy but said he might be able to get to it early this year. I haven't followed back up with him. I'm not sure what I am going to do. I'm swamped with projects/work around my house and motivation to work on the Jeep is at all time low for me. Doing nothing is the easiest path, LOL.

I know a great guy in Mount Airy that would be able to do some killer work on this unit.

I can finish it for you. $10k, plus $1k/month storage. No telling how long it will take, but at least my unfinished projects will have some company and I'll be making money along the way! :flipoff2:
 
I took the front driveshaft to Olivers to get it extended. I feel shorted though since I didn't get a cool sticker like Stretch did.

I've been messing around working on brake lines too. I need to buy a flaring tool. I also need to buy a bigger master cylinder. The internet says a Dodge Ram 2500 is the way to go.

I ran the dodge 2500 master on my YJ and the brakes with 40's is pretty good
