just got a speeding ticket. Any class I cn take to avoid the points/insurance hike?

Thats excellent news to know because I almost got pulled for 100 in a 55 the other day....
That's provided the officer doesn't just take you to jail right away. Odds are that will get you a careless and reckless, in addition to 45 over.

That is very true. Have many friends in law enforcement who can vouch for that side of it....They love to find someone that fast because its usually a pretty clear cut case against the one they catch like that.

Yea, definitely try to avoid those 2x speed limit tickets, they usually come with a bonus careless & reckless ticket.

I've only been pulled once but I made it a good one. Got me for 73 in a 35, careless & reckless and willful speed competition. Learned a very expensive lesson.

Dont waste your PJC on a small ticket, call the DA first. Generally they will review your record and simply reduce or drop over the phone. Not sure if Tennesee has reciprocity with NC (meaning NC can see your Tenn. tickets) but if you show a clean NC record they are typically willing to help. All counties offer your first seat belt violation to be dropped by simply calling. And some will allow your first ticket of 14 over or lower to be reduced to a non-moving violation (improper equipment) which will be a small fine and no court costs. If you waste your PJC then you cannot use it again for 3 years and you are signing yourself into a contract basically saying if you get another ticket within those 3 years then your old ticket will reappear and you will not be able to dispute it. Try calling DA first, if that doesnt sound very promising then go the attourney route, they typically charge around $250-350 which will include all court costs and fines. Only use your PJC as a last resort.
