Dang! Will you guys cut it out! I hope both of you get better quick! My ex had TIA's when she was preganant with Ivy. Scared the living crap out of me. Take care and use WD40 to fit in the MRI.
 
We need to start the fund for the "nc4x4 wing" over there...jk. Hope you get better soon....

If you are still looking for an open MRI in the Triangle area, I know where one is. I had to get one because I had a shoulder problem, and I am 6'4 320lbs and didnt fit in the regular MRI machine, so if you are there is one at Triangle Orthopedics at Southpoint in Durham.

I'm out, not better yet, but out. this sucks, I got too much crap to get done at home and at work. frustrating is only beginning to describe this.

that thought actually crossed my mind, but some of the nursing staff would not be able to handle some of the characters that would be present there.

FYI, the Hot to not ratio is pretty low, pretty disappointed

The NC State vet school has a large-bore magnet too, but I don't know if they use it for people :lol:

Kevin - not sure about the greater RDU area but I had an open MRI on my shoulder(rotator cuff) in Greensboro. I kinda got the claustrophopia (sp?) thing going and couldn't hang in a regular MRI. They were cool and open 24/7 for 363 out of 365 days. If you want to go for a ride I can look up where it was. It was near a Ham's restaurant. I got out of my MRI at 9 PM and went straight to Ham's for a double cheeseburger and 4 or 5 beers. :beer: The wife drove back home obviously.
 
Gosh...I hate hearing this..Hope it turns out to be a migrane or something other than a stroke. I cant hardly believe I am reading this. Good luck Kevin.

I suppose one could even hold his dog, to get the dogs leg checked, while getting your own knee checked.

You do get a strange look from your ortho when he sees a dog in with your mri. :)

Kevin, Google is telling me Raleigh Radiology and Raleigh Bone and Joint have open MRI's, both with the newer 1.5T magnets.

Don't get too overstressed! Patience is not my normal mode of operation, so I can relate, but keep cool and we'll see you both pull thru.
 
it's up to Raleigh Neurology my regular Dr and the insurance company now, I tried this morning to get the ball rolling and got the fawking run around , so I made an appt with my regular Dr, went in told her the deal, got them involved, next call is to my HR at work to put the lean on the insurance co. they were saying 2 business day before approval.... WTF ?

I'm thinking the right people aren't talking to each other and I'm caught in the middle. my head hurts to fucking much to push it any more.

Last I checked, BCBS was waiting for Raleigh Nerology to respond with details info as to WHY I needed an MRI

It's about $$$$ nothing more, nothing less,

It's like there was never e freaking request for this, just had to give ALL the infomation again, and then shes like, well, there one in WIlson, but your chest can't be more than 15" high laying on your back...

Me: What about Raleigh Radiology, they have one, it's in Raleigh, and is supposed to handle large folk up to 500lbs ?

them: OH, YEah, thats there too, you want to go there ?

WTF ?
 
So, I got an appt fr MRI, on the way last night they call and want to reschedule, their person who does the contrast imaging has to leave at 5pm, I got one with out, but still needf one with.

Am currently sitting here waiting 3hours EARLY my head is Fawkin pounding.

Yep medical care in AMERICA, the insurance companies could give a fawk less, and few folks seem to have an actual interest in helping if it actually involves TRYING!! ( medically )

Ralph, I'm ok, sore, not happy, and still not working, but I'm ok.
I made an end run around the Raleigh Neurology and there " we'll take care of you on our terms, but heres some drugs till we have the time.....)

Yesterday I went swimming, pretty much as an experiment to see if my hunch was right. minutes are floating around in the deep end, I felt MUCH better, floated around for about an hour and a half. got out and was fine for a little over an hour, then the pain and some numbness returned.

This pretty much verifies that I pinched a nerve or moved a disc when I was reaching over my head last week ( about 5min of reaching storing the awning on our camper ) went to my regular Dr and got a prescription for PT which I start on Wed ( soonest they could get me in ) so I'm still not working until at least next week.

I did finally get (2) MRI's one Thursday night, another Friday morning ( with contrast) that was a total cluster as well.
