Heh, I wanted to come visit him myself, but ended up on the other side in the ER

Funny thing about not being able too feel the left arm or side of your face, and it's a bitch trying to walk with no balance

Hoping it's just a pinched nerve or something stupid like that, only Been waiting in ER since 9:45am

At this time , all is ok.

nothing definitive yet, but they are saying a possible Transient Iscemic Attack (aka, TIA ). Or, a mini stroke. But there are still more tests,no brain bleed though

Some of the symptoms jive, but I'm not sold on that yet. Arm and head are still numb, and my balance is still off. This started about 11:15 last night just after I rolled up the awning on our camper ( up high over my head, I had to stretch, done it a dozen times in the past, no problems.

I really dislike hospitals !
 
A couple of updates in Kevin's situation:

From Susan Sitze last night @ 9:25pm:
Just thought I'd let everyone know that Kevin is being kept overnight for observation. Still no definite word on what is going on. May possibly be a mini stroke although the CAT scan didn't show any signs one had occurred, it can apparently take a couple of days before signs will show on a CAT, so they are going to do an MRI sometime tonight or in the morning, as it will apparently show indications of a stroke sooner than a CAT. May not be a stroke at all, although the only other real possibility I heard the Dr. mention was a migraine. Thanks to Ken Carter for helping to get a very tired Holly and the 4runner home. I'm sure Holly or Kevin will update more when they know more tomorrow.

Holly, Kevin's wife, updated to say his shoulders wouldn't fit in the MRI machine.

Sounds like as soon as Holly can get him the power cord for his i-thing, he might be able to update us himself.
 
Geez, you guys are freaking me out... we're all supposed to be hangin around the campfire after a day of being in the great outdoors, not stuck in hospitals! Let us know how we can help.
 
Just for the record... Kevin didn't start his own pity party thread. The OP was moved from the Yager thread. :beer:
 
Right, sorry. I said so in the Yager thread, but definitely want that to be clear... There might still be some overlap with updates on the both of them, but I thought it might get confusing...
 
keep us updated as what we can do..

I plan to go see yager later this week so kevin if you are still there I can come see you also.. but to be honest I hope it is nothing serious and you go home quick

Eric, I've wondered that myself, either that or we ( Mike and I ) have some of the worst luck, I'm really tired of hospitals at this point !

Neighbors maybe, roomies, probably not, we'd have battle royalie fighting over stupid stuff ( would be fun watching the nurses reactions though )

Hopefully they either figure out what happened with me or boot my ass out, this sitting and waiting is BS, haven't seen or heard from a Dr yet today.....

So, Yager calls me, he wants to come down to see me ( I can't go anywhere yet, damn monitors !! ) He wants to come, asks for room number, I tell him, few minutes later alls back to confirm number, calls back a third time, they won't let him go by himself, the Yager in him came out at this point, which was pretty funny ( these folks are pretty infuriating ) I don't remember what he said, but it was pure unadulterated Mike.

Any one know where there iso an OPEN MRI in the greater RDU area ? they won't let me go back to work until I get one

I believe that is it, It certainly looks larger than the one they have here.

I'll show tha to a Dr if they ever reappear and see if that's the deal, I think it is

Must be relatively new, as there was none around in '07 when they wanted one for my cancer treatment.
 
Yeah, the google search I did to find that link also turned one up for a WRAL article in Jan. of 2009.
 
This is getting kinda scary...something's going on in Raleigh. Hope you and Mike get better soon.

So, there's nothing more they can do for me at his time, and the rates at this hotel SUCK, so I'm OUTTA HERE!

Will be released within the hour, no work until I can get the MRI done. They say I can drive, but not operate heavy equipment !?
