This is our 1st trip to the outer banks area, staying in Kill Devil Hills for the week. Any recommendations on restaurants to check out while we're here? Thanks! :D

Blue Moon Beach Grill and Mulligan's are both awesome, never had bad food at either place. Sam & Omie's was great for breakfast.

@sammi_davis can give some more recommendations.

Have fun, the wife and I love going to the OBX. We always stay in Nag's Head, Kill Devil Hills or Kitty Hawk. So many awesome things to see and do.

Take the kids to Kill Devils and get some beach fries and frozen custard. Good to do in the evening if you have an early dinner.
We stay in that area almost every year; we had to cancel our June trip this year because we didn't know if they were going to open the COVID-closed bridges to outside traffic in time (before the cutoff date to get a rental refund).

Also, I don't know when you're going, but a lot of places close after the summer season... Not all restaurants are open year round. Rundown Cafe is one of those I believe, but can't remember.

I always go to Awful Arthur's when we go to the OBX, always good food. It's been a while since we've been though.

We get out to Nags Head several times a year and we always go to the following:

Waveriders (friends of ours) for breakfast every day...eat a Ben, they named it after me.

Kill Devils custard...burgers are pretty doggon good. Custard is amazing, I recommend the brownie Sundae

OBX Brewing station...haven’t had anything bad there and have a fantastic creme brûlée. They catered our wedding (at waveriders).

Spanky’s...another good burger joint, I always try to knock out a Viking for the home state

Blue Point in Duck (friend of a friend owns this place) if you’re looking for something fancier

Miller’s Waterfront is nice too.

Edit...worth noting, when we were there a couple months back, most places menus were abbreviated

Thanks so much for the suggestions - I really appreciate it! (Except for @BigClay cuz I'm not trying to starve)
I better get to Googling some of these! :D

If you were coming to the fun caravan next weekend I teach you all you need to know :(

How do I catch a burger with a fishing pole? :confused:o_O

if you’re looking for burgers on the OBX, you’re doing it wrong...

I'm sure there are places there with great burgers, but the seafood is likely to be a lot fresher than the beef.....

Mark and I really liked Darrell's Seafood on the way to Nags Head about six weeks back. It's on Roanoke Island. They had a Darrell's II. But I guess it's closed.

I'm a dungeness crab guy, but their soft shell crab was done just right with light seasoning and breading. It came off as a perfect mix of shrimp and crab (to me at least).

Seemed like a family business with a friendly vibe.

Are you guys taking your 5’th wheel out there? If so, I’d appreciate if you could give a little review of where you’re staying. Always looking for great campgrounds to visit. Have fun!

I don’t have a 5th wheel but when we were camping, we’d always go to Oregon Inlet, the B and C loops are 5th wheel friendly. 15 minutes from Anything though. I also know several folks that rave about the KOA in Hatteras too.
