Well my wife and I found out that we have/had mice in the walls of our house. I'm pretty sure it was just one since we having seen any signs of them. I heard him a couple of nights ago chewing on something and went looking for it. Saw him under the stove chewing on some piece of paper ( not sure where the paper came form ). So after I dropped her and the kids off to go on the mission trip I headed to wal-mart for flea shampoo ( for the dogs not me ), denti chews ( also for the dogs ), and mouse traps. I get home give dogs denti chews and proceed to setup 1 mouse trap to put next to the mouse hole in the wall ( think Tom and Jerry type mouse hole looks just like that ). The first thing I catch in the trap is my gosh darn fingers and that hurt like a sucker. So I get it set again and slide it next to his hole and the wait begins. Later that night I hear **SNAP** and think "oh yeah, I got you suckeeeerrrr". Nope, he just licked the peanut butter off the edge and the trapped missed. So I had to clean it off and place the peanut butter in the very back of the trigger so would have to step on it to get his last meal. Last night I'm in desk chair playing a game and hear the satisfying **SNAP** of the trap again ( keep in mind this is about 24 hours later ) so I get up and go check and DING DING DING, WE HAAAVE A WINNA. I found him with his head completely covering the trigger which is the way I had planned it but he still almost ate all the peanut butter off. So just in case I reset the trap but this time I only tiny amount of peanut butter on the trigger and he will have work for it.

i dont worry about mice. my dog doesnt let anything alive in the house. This sounds like a good thing, but you should hear a 100 LB dog chasing a fly through the house!

glad ya caught the lil sucker. hope he wasnt a breeder.

I had a mouse in my house a few months ago, we got home and my black lab had destroyed the house. I guess there was an epic battle between her and the mouse. Chewed a hole in the carpet (???) and scraped most of the paint off the bottom of one door. All the tables were knocked over, papers everywhere, etc. My wife thought we had gotten robbed when she came home.

HAHAHA. thats awesome.....sucks to fix the mess....but hilarious.

I had a mess of them in my shop a couple mos ago(strange, nothing in there but metal and shelter). The old school traps and sticky pads weren't doing a thing. I found some new ones that had a "sensitive" setting and caught 6 in 10 days. I've left them set around the shop and haven't had a problem since.

Had on in a house I was renting onetime, while getting a beverage out of the fridge I seen it run across the floor, I proceded to stomp the hell out of it but forgot I was bare foot. Mouse ass went flying between my toes.

I just throw a peanut butter cracker in a 5 gal bucket and set it next to a shelf. Jump in to get the cracker and dies trying to get out.

If they have logged off any woods near you, expect the worst. I hate mice, roaches, flies, silver fish, skeeters etc. I started seeing roaching after, the lady down the street logged off everything. Thought it was just me (my house is rather clean and i keep DE and seven dust spread around the place) asked some neighbors. turns out they've had ant problems, roaches, mice.

Mice- get some DE(diatomaceous earth) some peanut butter (peter pan is the shit) roll up a lil balls of pb with some de mixed in. it kill's them from the inside out, dries them out. wear some latex gloves or wash your hands right after handling the de.

roaches- work the same but feeding them just makes more roaches find where their breeding and get rid of what ever it is, then bomb the whole house. The more bombs the better just go to a military store and buy a gas mask and filter walk around setting them off, then leave for 4-5 hrs and air out.

seven dust is pet friendly, De is as well kinda. best to put it in kitty litter to keep the smell down. I don't have kids so I can't speak on those terms.

I need some of the DE to get rid of the fleas in the yard. Anyone know where I can get it? A lot of it?

I know how you feel, my dog will chase anything, spiders, bugs, mice, if it moves she tries to eat it.

I think they make a DE food grade than can actually be consumed by humans I have heard(I wouldn't recommend it) but it should still have the same effects. We have used it for bugs on plants and to keep flies down. Not sure about the mice though.

http://www.earthworkshealth.com/ < I got a 50lb bag...my yard looked like winter in July when I started using it last year!
The company does promote taking a tablespoon each day (mixed in a liquid)...that's up to you, I tried it for a while, but it tastes like chalk.

I heard the same thing. Doubt i'll try it though, I've tried it on trapped mice feed them a lil pb ball, the more de the faster they die.

I killed two mice in my dang van a couple of months ago.

I've got dam chiggers in my lawn/woods right now, and it sucks. I picked up some stuff to spray last w/e, but haven't had time to put it down yet.

How big of an area did it cover? I need to do my whole backyard and possibly my front as well.

it depends on how your throwing it out. i still think you should use seven dust instead. De is silicone and it's gonna absorb all moisture. it's like using peroxide for cleaning wounds docs dont't use it much anymore. because it kills the good bacteria and the bad= slow ass healing wound. @ least if your gonna use De wait till it starts to cool down Had to see burn spots or dead area's in a freshly seeded yard.
