Laugh of the day

Its because the suspension sucked, so it threw you around a lot more. The front rose up and the back squatted, so you felt more pushed back in your seat, and then everytime you shifted, you went forward as the suspension unloaded, and then back again as it reloaded.
Is that why my old Toyota feels badass w/ the mighty 22re?

I had a guy I worked with who owned a 77 Z28 4 spd car with a "built 3fitty". The car had a basically stock 350 with smog era heads, headers and loud pipes and some nasty cam. He had a single plane intake and a holley and 295 series Mickeys on the rear.

He talked so much junk to me until finally I told him to bring that POS to Benson Dragway Thursday night and I would let him whip my ass.

The talk got harder and he told everyone he was going to lift the front tires when he holeshotted me and showed me the fast way down the track.

I never ran him. He got down there and ran it 3 times, and never went faster than 9.80 (8th) or so.

He left and tried to drop it the next day, I never quit bringing it up LOL

In his mind it was quick, in reality not so much.

That same night I ran a Viper 2 times and beat him worse the second run :)

The only photo I have of it. It went 12.94 @ 108.5 at Fayetteville in stock trim with 800 miles on it.
On a 150 shot and some other mods it was brutally quick on BFG drags.

Oh how I love an LS1! Doesn't take much to open them up and make a lot of really fun power.

When I had 36" iroks on my yj, with 4.56s in the 30/8.8, I ran a 9.90 in the 8th, with a 1.43 60 foot and a .007 light. Used to keep the papers in my center console from it. Iirc around 75 mph.

Smoked a tiburon and a duramax that night.

Fun time seeing everyone's reactions of a jeep running the 1/8 under 10 secs with a 6 cyl.

That's what I meant, but I like the way I said it better. :p

Speaking of that, I Had a CJ [I think] go by the other way, this morning, on Slanting Bridge Rd., Denver. It was White, with some Red detailing on it, & Slammed to the ground! My first thought, O Crap ! Than as he went past, I noticed this convertible, had a Dragster sounding engine, & a Chrome Wing, on the back. Just a quick passing, but I believe it was tubbed, & Everything. Set up to Drag!

I used to smoke stock mustangs off the line for the first 50' or so in my stock 79 jeep j10 with a 360 and quadratrac. They would spin and I would be gone. Oh the high school days were great.
