Anyone have a trusted source for LCD main boards? My insignia TV quit working and I’m pretty sure I’ve narrowed it down to a short in the main board.
Now, time to purchase a new board or send it out for repair. Problem is, most places are out of stock and the couple that have one, well, I don’t have enough info to trust they are valid retailers, etc.

Looking for board 569mf0801a or someone to make the repair that’s trustworthy

thanks
Rob

Its a cheap throw away TV.
Buy a new set and be done with it.

Gotta agree with @Ron, Assuming it's the 50" model, It's worth a little over $300 new, And I'm pretty sure it would cost more than that for a professional repair. If you can replace the board yourself, lot's of places sell it for less than $50, But Personally I'd just take that and put it towards a new upgraded TV.

It’s the 55” Insignia from 2012. It’s cheap. Yes, but if I can spend a few $ to keep it going, why not? Why spend $500 on a new TV when I could spend 10% of that and fix this one?

I already have it pulled apart and pinpointed the issue to the main board.

Because the equivalent tv new is 300 maybe 350 and your time is worth something. And if you spend 50 and it doesn't work then what.
But good luck just be prepared for Bri to say "I told you so"

well, if you're going ahead with fixing it, I applaud you.. I'd buy the part from a vendor with an address and phone number on their web-site, just because that indicates they are probably real, not because I'd expect to use them. Vendors like that with a reasonable price come and go all the time, I've never found an electronics parts source that is around for more than a few years since Sears Parts went to crap...

It was a garbage tv before it quit working. :flipoff2:

I don’t disagree. But I have little expectations from my electronics aside from them working. I generally have zero care as to the picture, etc. As in, I’m not chasing the latest technology for the best picture and sound, etc. It’s just nothing I’m interested in as I (or kids) rarely watch much TV.

so, having a cheap TV is OK by me so long as it works. It wasn’t that long ago that I had an old Sony Triniton CRT TV in the living room.

Which is why I say...
$278

Walk into wal mart walk out and its working in however long it takes you to plug a tv in.
If you are a costco member buy it there and it has a 3 year warranty

I guess I am not the type to accept that we live in a disposable society and that things should last longer than they do. At some financial or labor point I’ll give up, but I’m not quite there yet.

Start by buying higher quality stuff that lasts longer?

I remember doing that one time with a tv...it was 60 or 65" LG. The innernet said to replace the driver and LED strips...think it cost me about $300. Wanted to make sure it wasn't a loose connection, so spent a couple hours re-soldering. Put it all back together...Eureka, it worked again...for 6 weeks. Brought it to a tv repair shop (surprisingly difficult to find)...spent another $300 on a repair bill and the dude said the driver was probably fine to start with, that model was notorious for shit LED's. Ego was bruised a little, but $600 all in was still cheaper than buying a replacement. About 4 weeks goes by, screen goes black again...and that's when I started buying Samsung tv's...they just seem to last forever for me (except for the hdmi ports).

Or, expect everyday items to last like they should. :D
Dude you literally bought the cheapest no name product made. You cant be upset when it fails.
Look Im all for restoring and repairing a Bentley. But a daewoo? Just toss it and buy another

I won't ever have another LG product in the house. Bought a new refrigerator, the LG seemed to hit all the check boxes we wanted. Got it home on a Wednesday night, DOA. Wouldn't get cold. Meanwhile the :smart" diagnostics said all was well.

Called LG, they set up a service appointment with A&E who said next day service. Next day (Thursday) came and went, no tech. Called LG again, they called A&E who said I wasn't home, which was total BS. They now said Monday.

I said BS, took that piece of junk back and got a Samsung. It's only been a few months but no issues at all.

Cancelled the service appointment and got a confirmation number. Monday the tech showed up and started to cuss me out, then I showed him the cancellation confirmation dated Friday. He hung his head and left.

LG and Samsung are the same appliance built in the same factory and have the same warranty and parts so...congrats?

"Samsung" is Korean for "three stars (out of five)".

True story.

In the appliance world both are built in Clarksville TN

also true my GE Profile fridge ice maker went out. Ordered a replacement from GE. It came in a Samsung box and and had a Samsung sticker on the ice maker. For perfect and works fine but...

so apparently there are some electronic experts in here.
What’s a good brand that I can expect to last more than the cheap ones?

insignia is junk. LG is junk. Samsung is junk. Insignia has Panasonic parts inside it so Panasonic is junk too. I bet Visio and TCL is on that junk list as well.

what’s left? Sony?
