Leafguard or other non clog gutters?

I have 120'+ Willow Oak tree behind and over much of my house. I finally took the regular gutters off years ago because full gutters are as bad or worse as no gutters.
Do any of y'all have no-clog gutters? and if so what kind and do they work in a situation like mine?
Please explain...
Thanks

I'd like to know too. My house stays stopped up from oak leaves.

I had a friend who installed the stuff that looked like pool noodles and says they worked. He was supposed to bring some leftovers by but never did before changing jobs.

leaf relief system works pretty good. We install it on about every copper gutter job we do. Only thing better would be one of the helmet style gutters but they are $$$. Here's a picture of the leaf relief system. It just snaps in and is secured with small screws. My father in law used to gutter 300+ houses a year and I base my info off what he tells me.

Leafguard on ours. Been here almost 5 years and no leaves in there yet. Big oak right at corner of house, 2 in back and a giant walnut tree haunting me.

When I look out the upstairs bathroom window, I'm reminded how much of a good investment they were.

Company I used to work for dealt with gutter guard or some such. Worked good except for certain tree droppings would get stuck in the lip where the water was supposed to run back into the gutter and cause massive off shoot. And medium rain, depending on roof pitch would shoot over the guard unless it was slicked so the water would follow its curve.. The expanded metal gutter shields are leaf and needle collectors.. As bad. It worse than open gutters.

I asked here a couple years ago, & someone recommended The Gutter Shutter [Charlotte] "www.FREEGUTTERS.com". I called Rick Goercke there, & he dropped by with a presentation. It's basically like all gutter covers, but I've seen most of the others. I like the Quality, Strength, & Mounting system, they use. I had my Old gutters replaced, since they were standard, & leaked!
My old gutters could & would bend, with a ladder against them, but Not the Gutter Shutter! I have one huge Pin Oak, that used to keep my screens & gutters stopped up, + other leaves. I haven't checked these in 2 years, because their working Fine!

I have several large Oaks around my house. The house had gutter guards on it when we bought. They aren't anything special, but they work pretty well. They are not like the ones pictured above. They have the rolled edge that let's water into the gutter and leaves pass over. I have heard they are expensive though.

i tried all the gutter guard stuff that they sell at lower and home depot in various places on my gutters.. the plastic ones that you snap into the gutters worked the best, but still sucked

i have come to the conclusion that the only ones worth getting are the ones that look like this

abiltondemand.com_wp_content_uploads_2011_03_Gutter300.jpg

they are too expensive for my budget however, so i have not tried them and just get the ladder out every fall and spring...

i would rather have other toys and just manually clean them... i do only have a single story house tho.. if i had some really tall scary shit to clean things may be different

I actually recommended them to you Rodney lol! I am just scepticle because of the size of my tree and the amount of debris that I get from it.

I had the helmets on my old house. They worked great but do need to have the rounded surface cleaned once a year or so to keep them working properly.

I started a thread on this subject a couple of years ago. I still haven't pulled the trigger on any kind of guards though. I've just been paying to have them cleaned.

Gutter helmets

Gutters..

The quote to put the gutters with the 'helmets' over them was $6500 more than the quote for regular old K gutters.

I can clean a shitload of gutters for $6500.

I just went and cleaned my gutters this past Saturday. Took all of an hr by myself. Dont see myself spending money on any prevention to be honest and I have trees over my house on all sides. To easy to justify money. Single family ranch here so thats easier for me than two story

My house takes a little longer but the main reason I have been thinking about it, you need to clean them atleast every other month, if not every month between the pollen, leaves, and acorns. They are older discolored alum 4", so I really need to put up some new, bigger gutters anyway.

Mine take about 15 minutes.
1. Get ladder
2. Get backpack blower
3. Scatter leaves all over wife's landscaping
4. Put ladder/blower away
5. Have a beer

Ive only owned this house since Jan so I have no clue how many times Ill need to clear them out. If I need to do it often I may consider doing something. I had no idea they were this full, over 80lbs full of shit, so bad that I had plants growing hahaha

I have tried this and the water hose methods at my house... The blower does do much for packed in acorns and wet willow leaves... but for most it works well.

I typically put mine off to 3-4 times per year and its like this every time. As small as the acorns and leaves are, I'm not going to put up something that wont work, however.

I can see some of my first floor gutters from the windows of the second floor, and there is about a 1/2"-1" thick layer of pollen, seed pods, and leaves in them now. Mine are too high for me to do, or at least that is what my wife tells me, LOL.

This won't clog. I'll finish them up Monday and can swing by Tuesday to start yours.

:huggy: Can't hide money when it's literally hanging of the front of your house....

Is it me or does that roof look like it has a dip in it? Could just be the slate messing with my eyes....

No it has a terrible dip in it. They installed a 16" I beam in the garage and jacked it some. Should have seen it before that.

Between the house and garage they have about 600' of gutter and 400' of downspout. Actually one of the smaller copper jobs we've done lately. But I could about pay off my house for what they have in new gutter.

Damn....

I was going to start a thread on this subject, but fortunately decided to search first. I have Pecan trees all around my home (six of 'em). I have to clean gutters every spring (tassles), then again in the fall (leaves & sticks). Based on the cost estimates I've seen so far on this thread they don't sound so attractive. I believe this thread has answered most of my questions. I would like to know more about the covers that YotaOnRocks mentioned in post #3. Any new info or opinions? ThanX!

I've got the same thing on my house as @rodney eppes does, Richard. I like them a lot...work good. Only knock would be when it's raining hard it will just flow right over the gutters near a valley on the roof.

Granny if you have a lyf tym or somewhere similar in your area they can get you samples of the different options. The leaf relief is available in different materials. We always use stainless

I haven’t found any gutter guards that are worth the $. Every one I’ve seen still cloggs up and needs cleaning.

I found that it’s easiest and cheaper to take a few hours on a weekend in the late fall or early winter after th leaves have fallen and clean them out quickly before they become a problem.

I usually use a blower and a hose. Quick and easy and much cheaper.
