Let's help out a fellow wheeler

On the USED items.. let's do this instead of including those in the raffle!!
Place them in the for sale area for a VERY VERY reasonable price and then mark them as "All proceeds to KC4x4" so folks that are interested in buying that item will know they are getting a bargain on your part PLUS helping out a bud!
For example, see Yager's brush guard ad!!
For the raffle, I know personally if I was winning something I would want it to be either NEW or "universal" ie something anyone can use, oil, tow straps, etc.
Brand specific NEW items are welcomed (much easier to turn around and resell if the winner does not own that brand)
Thanks again to everyone reading this!!
That works also will try and get my stuff up tonight
For the raffle any idea on "Have to be present to win"

Please post up any specific fund raiser support items or logistic needs for everyone to see how we can all help out.

I'm sure with the Economy the way it is and everyone busy with work, school, kids etc. we are all feeling the squeeze...NOT to take away from Kevin & Melissa's situation by any means!!!

I'm just thinking that if we can all help each to other make this effort happen, we will multiply our efforts which In-Turn helps the Cox Family.

I'm in Vass (Moore County near Fort Bragg) I have Truck and Trailer if someone needs anything hauled to Help Out on this. I'll buy the fuel, just help me with directions (I'm from St. Louis...Mapquest is my friend) I will however be Out of Town this weekend, but planning to get out to the Farm (Oct 17th & 18th) to Show our Support...jeeps tore up, so trailer is empty...let me know. Working on some other ideas & Sure want to Support any way that I can...!!

We're all Praying for you guys...!!!

I am headed to the Brevard area tomorrow to pick up a bunch of stuff for the raffle and some T-shirts to sell. Anyone else need me to pick up in the Asheville area let me know. I will be in my car, but only need enough room for two butts, so pack me full!

I've got 4 Snapon jackets, 2 Snapon watches and a few other small items I'm donating. I got the local supply house to kick in a case of brake clean and case of 10w30 for the raffle also. Caver Dave is bringing with him. Working on other stuff.

I will bring anything that anyone wants to sell, donate, scrap etc. to the Farm event.

I will bring my van and trailer as needed to get your stuff there. My jeep is down for a few weeks anyway.

Please send me an email (y ager nc AT g mail DOtt com) I will even pick it up at your house if needed. BigJuggy is south of raleigh and I am north of raleigh, so get with either one of us to make it happen. Also there are plenty of people through out raleigh state what you have and we'll find a way to get it..

I now work in RTP and will drive my van to meet you during lunch or to pick shit up after work.

And to add I will be traveling through G'borro area that day, so I can pick up what ever along the way.

Anyone want to assist me with the transport or be a designated drop off point ??? Or even go down for the event day on Sat?

Yager I am 2 miles from the farm. If needed I can be a drop point.

Drop at my pad & I will bring to the event

I have another idea that I want to do at the farm event.

Its called 'THE TABLE CRAWL'.

I have built a table that we use for CTB events. We run the Nylint r/c rock crawlers on it. It has pvc pipe rails w/ measuring tapes on both sides. We create a rock crawl course on it. We measure distances, or time if you make it all the way. It is tons of fun and a great way to make money.

We will need an awsome prize for the winner. We can charge 5-10 bucks for a shot at the prize. Folks will have 45 seconds to crawl.

We (CTB'ers) were able to raise money for the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, so I know this will work. It will be a side show, maybe even attract funds from some of the non-4x4-owning folks that will be there.

The main factor will be the prize that is up for grabs. Obviously, the better the prize, the more excitement and money it will generate.

Trust me folks, this will be a hoot.

I have already talked to Chad M. (BDB) about this and it's a go.

Well....I didnt plan on coming to this event.

BUT.....

I'll be heading out for this thing! I'll be there the 18th most likely. I should be in Nanthahala on the 17th.

Might see if my dad wants to come down with me actually....

Just recieved a pm from 'Snappy' He is going to donate a 1/2 snap-on cordless impact gun for the Table Crawl prize. This is a high dollar prize and should help raise some funds at the Big Dixie Boggers Up-coming event.

Now that is what I call stepping up!

Here's to you snappy!

I just read about all this today Kevin. Very sorry to hear about all this. I sent some $$$ through Shinton.

God Bless.

Same here. Money is coming your way via paypal right now Sam.

The proceeds from whatever I can sell on here over the next few weeks will also be coming your way. I've got a 14 bolt FF housing for sale, and I think I'll post a couple of spare tires up for sale that I've got too. I'll check the shed this w/e and see what other parts I can find to sell.

First off I want to say I am very sorry for your misfortune and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family KC. I wish you nothing but the best.

Second I want to let you know about something that happened to me several years back that might help you out financially. I was envolved in a bad car wreck, in the hospital for 5 days, out of work for 3 months, etc. I know my doctor bills were nothing compared to what yours are, but this still may help. I was 20 at the time, had no money, and insurance would only pay so much. My mom called the hospital and spoke with someone in billing I believe. She told them my financial situation and that I had been out of work. She asked them if they would write off some of the bills and sure enough they wrote off over 50%, and I think it was more like 75%, of the remaining balance I owed them. It might be worth the time just to check and see.

Took a 160 mile round trip last night. Let's just say about everyone will be able to get them self a T-shirt!

Maybe I missed it on this site but when/where is the event? I will definately be there!

And SolarYellow, I suggested that as well. Its worth a shot! Ive had to do it twice for to bad car wrecks. Wrote about 80% - 90% off.

I am bringing 3 cases of T-shirts, some adjustable coil spring mounts, and some New TJ springs.
Looks as if it's gonna be a great Event, as if we could expect anything less from these guys!

I have a new 3x5 black coffee table from a local furn. Some know who I work for and this is a donation from me to the auction, not the company. Disclaimer. Should be down there fri evening sometime, where should I take it?

just show up and someone will point ya in the right direction.:bounce2:

I met up with Snappy today and picked up the 18 volt cordless Impact wrench, and a couple of real nice Snap-On watches and a camo shirt for the raffle and Table Crawl.

Thanks again Snappy!

i visited kevin and melissa this past sunday. i helped kc clean out his building. i talked with them both and i can say these are some of the nicest people around. i'll be visiting my grandmother the day of the event. its her 81st birthday so im not gonna be able to be there with everyone.. i hope for a huge turnout and sunny skies on this day.

im junking some scrap metal next week and would like to donate all the money to the fund raiser. im also interested in one of those t-shirts that chip mentioned in an xl. if someone can get me one i'll pay them for it.

my thoughts and prayers go out to my friends kevin and melissa.

I talked to Kevin Yesterday on my way to work. He told me that Mellisa had gone to see yet another doctor. Won't say a lot about the doctor she was seeing, but in short form, he got real nasty and offensive when Mellisa's new doctor requested her medical records. I guess he was insulted that after 6 months of his treatment, she is no better off than when it all started. She simply wanted a second opinion.
The new doctor run a scope down her throat, and thought he may have found a couple problems, but he was unsure until he gets the test results back. He is also having Kevin and Melisa visit another nutritionist. This Gluten stuff she is allergic to is in so many things. Even toothpaste! She was very sore after these tests today, and Kevin said she had not muttered a word since.
Kevin is wanting to come up for the event, but at this point things change so fast it's difficult to make plans. As it is, he has had to mis three days of work already this week.
Mellisa wants to come also, but at this point it very doubtful.
As it stands now, after a meeting with her employer, she will be terminated as of Friday.
Her short term disability pay....gone Her medical insurance......Gone. All of this is due to her company's policy. Her boss(not sure of his title) did say that should could return to work after she is away for a period of 3 months(90 days) provided, she is well enough, and they have an opening.
Oh, forgot to mention, the new doctor already impresses me. He said if he can't figure out what's wrong with her, he wanted her to see a specialist at Duke University. WOW a doctor ready to admit it if he can't do it, and move her on to someone who may!

Guys a gals, from the bottom of my heart I appreciate all everyone is doing to help these folks out. They are stunned at the support that is being shown.

What we need is to make sure this event is a great success.
We need as much stuff for the raffle as we can. More great stuff, the more tickets that will sell.
We need butts Down in Pumpkin Center showing their support of the cause, and the love of the sport we all share.
If you are bringing something from either yourself, or another person or business, please include a note with the item to say who it is donating it. I am positive Kevin and Mellisa will want to thank each and every person donating anything.
A good friend of mine who has his own business come up with an idea I thought was great. IF a business would sponsor a one month donation to pay for the COBRA insurance, that would be a BIG weight off their shoulders.
I want to keep a tally board at the event.
I want to let everyone know what has been donated by paypal. Sam, I will need a call from you or me call you, PM me your number. Unless you are gonna be there???
I want to let everyone know how much is raised in ticket sales
I will keep record of the shirt sales.
We will tally all of this up and let everyone there know how deep our hearts can dig!

OK enough rambling, I hope to see thousands there having fun, listening to music, buying tickets, and breaking parts!
Till we wheel!

I don't know much about the organization, or that they even helped in this manner, but I caught a Commercial last night for the American Medical Assoc. it was about not having insurance and having your insurance recently terminated and helping you with that issue.

Maybe worth mentioning to Kevin to look into if he hasn't already.
