Chip,
May want to reconsider publicly posting $ totals.
It could cause heartburn later for them.

Was going on what we did when we had the benefit for Larry's Mom a while back. The total that was raised for her was announced.

That said, it don't mean it's right. Or wrong.

Sam, you are the man with this Knowledge, Can we do this gift presentation without ramifications to the Cox Clan?

The short answer is there is NOT a legal / tax issue, anyone can give a gift to another person (non-taxable) of up to $10,000 per year. It is NOT a tax deduction (non of these items are charitable contributions folks) either, so that balances out.

I am neither for or against mentioning any totals, other than I do not plan on disclosing anyone's personal contributions AT ALL!!! That should be a very private matter.

ttt get on out to the farm!!! I am heading out in a min. Hope to see yall there. Come by the Table Crawl booth and give it a shot. Money goes to Kevin and Mellisa...fun goes to you! You might win a Snap-on impact gun. It's cordless and great on the trails/shop.

Just get there!!!!

Melissa *UPDATE*

She went back to the GI doctor yesterday to ge her test results from last Thursday. Doctor was honest and said some of the levels he checked were off the charts. ( Doctor lingo so I don't really know what he checked) 1 level was 100 where a average person was supposed to be 10. And another level 8 times more than normal. Again honest, He said he didn't really know what to do. He is going to send her to DUKE. I think he is going to try to get her in sometime in the next 2 weeks. We have to wait and see what he can do.

Because of the BDB event and the money raised she paid the first payment of $633 for her insurance on Tuesday. Thanks again for all the support from everyone on this board. She feels alot better just knowing she has to go to another hospital and still has insurance.

I'll try and keep updates as I can. KC

Hey Kevin and Melissa,

I just wanted to let you now that http://www.CNC4x4.org had there Fall bash last weekend at URE and we (the club) decided to have a raffle with all money collected going to your family. So we gathered some new items to raffle off(winch, high lift, etc)

We sold tickets at $1.00 each and we raised $500.00 for you.. the treasure will be sending you a check soon.

So on behalf of all CNC members we are glad we can help and you both are in our prayers.

Lets us know if we can help in any other way.

Wow.....You guys are awsome. Thank you very much. Melissa and I cannot beleive the support the clubs and members of this board have helped out. Without this support she would be without insurance. Anything I can do to help anyone on this board, just let me know.

So Kevin, how are things going?

Well, Sh went a week with not being sick. Now she has a cold/sore throat, icky feeling that me and Chelsea is sorta having. She is worse than we are. GI doctor called this week and is still tring to get a appointment to Duke. May be 2 more weeks. He said we had to go when there is an opening and couldn't cancel because we may not get another chance for a while.

Dietician called....Cant use anything but "ziplok" bags (no store brands) Can't use the paper tea bags for making tea (Glue used) Most dark drinks, most tooth pastes, some shampoo's, etc. Lots of changes for Chelsea and me also. May not even be able to keep a loaf of bread in the house.
I didn't even realise most of this stuff was possable to make someone sick. She may have other conditions as well, Lactose intolerant, etc

I'll tryand update when she goes to Duke.

Thanks for asking..........

Some good news though.......I got promoted to shop foreman over machining last week at my job. (Machine shop)

Congrats. Best wishes again.

Duke Hospital can be a confusing place to get around. If your interested, PM me with the Clinic you are going to visit. I might be able to meet you at one of the entrances and help you get to the correct clinic. The clinics are very good about passing out directions. But picking the wrong parking deck can mean the difference between walking across the street or walking 1/2 mile.

Glad to hear it was a somewhat good week!!!

[For those reading the thread, the first set of donations was sent to Melissa last week - but there has been more come in, will bundle up those amounts and send again soon!

My paypal is Sammyh@Triad.rr.com and just reference KC4x4 fund, thx]
