Lets See a Pic of Your tow rig and trailer.

I've posted before in this thread...but this past fall I updated to a Kaufman gooseneck deluxe model 20' flatbed with 4' popup dovetail. I use it for farm use and to haul the jeep.

Got a new trailer to match the truck. Rated for 20k lb payload, it weighs over 11k empty. I have a couple tracked vehicles and needed a trailer rated heavy enough to haul them (one at a time), they weigh about 17k.

The hell Michael, I thought you were in the fab business not grading! !! I saw my old 81 the other day, the one you built the bumper on. It still has a "rockdust fabrication " sticker on the side!! Phone number to!!!....that is from 10 years ago!!

Maiden voyage with my new PJ trailer. Love it by the way. It's one of the best towing trailers I've ever towed.

Then I thought this one was funny. My son was pissed I was leaving without him so he was trying to stowaway in the Jeep. I came out of the house just in time to catch him.

Do you have a build thread for the jeep?

Here's mine. Haven't towed any vehicles with this trailer yet. Truck is a 13 Silverado with 5.3 and 6l80 and 3.42 gears.

I towed my dad's VW on an 18ft featherlite and the truck did well.

Just picked it up yesterday, 2013. 6.0 4l80, 2wd no thrills work truck, built in brake controller and eaton in rear. Got it at a really good deal with only 21000 miles on itView attachment 186445

Awesome. That will make the ride to Moab mucho better. Now you can take yours. Lol

Your jk is a fawkin monster now!!

It's only a few inches taller than it was before. I have a bit more cutting to do but I need to finalize a few more things before I cut more.

I have a half asses thread on a small forum with some buddies up in NJ.

http://www.disconnectedoffroad.com/forums/index.php?/topic/510-my-build-2009-unlimited-rubicon/

Pretty normal build custom Long arm suspension with coil overs and by passes in the front and coil overs in the back. Shaved 14 bolt and a HP 60 front with a few tweaks here and there.

First tow with my new 6.7 Cummins and 6 speed. Going to see if it makes fuel like the 5.9s do.

Great setup! I'm curious about the difference in mpg.

I made a swap recently as well (company forced- weird story).

My '08 Tundra was lifted 2" and on 35"s and the mpg was as follows:
  • 13.8 to 14.2 Hwy
  • 10.0 to 11.0 City
  • 7.2 to 8.5 Towing
I traded it for a '13 Raptor (6.2) and the new mpg is
  • 14.8 to 15.0 Hwy
  • 10.8 to 12.0 City
  • 9.0 to 10.0 Towing

So the Raptor is a full mpg or better in every category than my Tundra. Plus its the most comfortable car I've owned and does 0-60 in 6 seconds. Its been a great switch so far, hopefully I can get it out to TX or NM for a sandy event one of these days.

A 2013 raptor is only tow rated to 8000lbs surprised you made the switch, I personally would much rather tow with the tundra that has a suspension that is setup much better for it.

This one's been around for a while, just never had too many good pics. Poor old 98 Z-71 & 5.7. In IT'S Day.......... Well, it still gets there & back.

11.2 according to the cluster on the way to Harlan. We kept it at the speed limit and came the "hilly" way (I26 to 23, 58 to 421). I'll calculate actual mileage when I fill up post trip.
Truck tows great and pulls every steep hill in 5th no sweat. Trailer and Ranger are approx 8400#.

I've been averaging 10.5 towing with mine running true 35's on it. I wished I kept the stock tires for towing but this 6.7 just seems to pull whatever you put behind it. My PJ Buggy Hauler and JK are right at 9K.

Welcome to the world of Raptors. You should check out Carolina Raptors on FB or ford raptor forum. There's a group in NC that get together monthly.
