My ZJ, a cheap project to prove to myself that I could build a daily-driver trail rig that could handle abuse and wheel the big stuff and haul me, my friends, and all our gear on trail and off cheaper than I could buy a good used ATV.
Bone stock, bought for $450 with a knocking motor and no 2nd gear in trans.
Rolled ZJ for parts (motor, trans, spare shafts, other odds and ends) $500
Sold parts off rolled ZJ and hauled the rest to the scrap yard. -$350
Rough country lift/shocks $450
4:56 USA Standard gears+ install kit $475
Detroit truetrac for D30 $375
Wheels $190
Tires $600
About $2,700 got me this and I couldn't be happier.
This is Estonian's Jeep tj. built very well. it is a sleeper for rigs and the newest edition is the fully built cage.
fitting it in the Hardtop
finishing attaching the straight bars
letting the cage get some sun
A couple of my past Jeep projects 52 Willys CJ3a and a 78 CJ7.
Then My YJ as it has progressed from 33s to 36s
to 38s As it sits now sprung over on 4inch springs axles swapped to 9in and D44. Stock powertrain till I can afford a v8 swap or 4cyl cummins.
The sweet door color is from when I used them on my CJ7 now im to lazy to paint them black I think I get more looks with the sweet yellow doors anyways haha.
