Put this question out to the misfit group of toys but want to get mo'feedback.

I've been rockin' Carhartt shorts for quite a few years and love them for their durability; however, they do not breathe and promote swamp-ass like no other.

What are yall jabronis go-to for a good, durable work short that also allows the boys to not sit in a pool of sweat in t-minus 5 minutes?

Can't help with shorts, but IMO the key is good synthetic polymer underwear. Typically a polyester/spandex mix.
They breathe well and wick moisture away, and self-dry quickly.

I have a couple pair of these I use for backpacking etc
Amazon product ASIN B07NT96DD5
But really even these much cheaper things are fine, its what I'm wearing right now

Sweat management starts at the undies. @RatLabGuy guy and I have different opinions on the material, but I think the key is to not have something too loose which allows chafing, but also not so tight that you suffocate. With that said, is the problem just sweat management, or the after effects of irritated sweaty balls?

FTW !!!!

Fair question

I sweat and that isn't going to stop. I've accepted it, no biggie. I'm not powdering my junk every day, I get it...it probably works but hard pass.

I'm just looking for a more light-weight short that breathes better but is also durable.

I have this product idea, but I need $5k for the domain name...

Some older vehs had AC vents aimed right at the boys…

If you‘re not willing to sprinkle some powder then you don’t really have a problem.

I use corn starch based powder and Champion synthetic material boxer briefs to keep it all in check.

Alright guys, let's get this back on track.

I'm not interested in powder suggestions or real world experience with it, it's not a sweating problem per se. It's a "these funding shorts are heavy and I'm looking for something a bit more lightweight that will still hold up to real work" problem.

I've worn Columbia Ultimate ROC shorts (and pants) for years. Unfortunately they've changed everything to "Flex" now. They're still comfy, but cut different. If I ever catch the old non-flex style, I buy them.

I am a fan of Dickies for durability. Should be lighter weight and more breathable than carhartts. No personal experience with the shorts, its pants year round for me working.

I would die. Over 60 as a high, and I'm in shorts.

You fuckers have never heard of corn starch i assume?
Prevents the gaulded ass and might cure covid 19.

I've worked in an industrial atmosphere for 40+ years.
Raging heat and humidity go with that, and as a welder i create more heat.
Bunch of sissies....

X2 on the corn starch and breathable undies or a designated "balls only"tube of deodorant.Or if you pride yourself in having clean balls,or dont care, use the same tube. You can also apply the deo liberally to some TP and apply it that way.

Fuck... so much to break down here... To answer your original question I don't buy "durable'' shorts, I buy "comfortable" shorts and plenty of them. Kohl's has good ones of late. I also wear loose cotton boxers. I work outside every single day and I sweat my ass off. If your shorts reach or fall below your knees you're wearing Capris not shorts.
If you have jock itch or any other reoccurring fungal issue you need Lotrimin cream to heal your issue and get it under control but also you need to bathe and dry really well daily (I'm sure you do, I've got a buzz, lol)
Secondly, I know you can grow a lot of hair except on the top of your head so you have to thin the forest occasionally. DO NOT shave, just use the trimmer to get it close to the skin. If it's affecting you from asshole to naval them groom it accordingly.
Personally all that hair creates friction and I am moving all day long and when it's long, it creates issues.
Clear the fungus, thin the forest, make it dry, and a little baby powder or corn starch never hurt no one.
Oh and for serious swamp ass, for whatever reason, original Preparation H (not the cream) works freaking wonders on any parts down there when you have issues. It's like it's made for it! lol

This right here, just got some more shorts at Sams club, khaki and gray. They flex and fit well, strait leg none of that cargo shit, also they land just above the knee.
Best part they were 10 bucks a piece.

Some dude at work swears by Degree deodorant spray. Says he grabs the twig and pulls it up, shoots the spray on the berries and taint and calls it good. He also claims he's had compliments from the ladies however the taste is something less than desirable.

I'm sure it works on assholes too. Maybe.

This. Back when I wore shorts, all I wore were Carhartt shorts also. I would have to have them hemmed to the bottom of the side pockets to make them come above the knee. I hate when shorts don't come above the knee. When you squat down your knees pull them down, so you have to pull the legs up before you squat. That gets old.
