license GONE

Most of us on here have had their share of tickets/punishments, myself included. Sometimes you have to do the time for the crime.....sucks if you do not get exceptions for work/school.

It is one way to find out who your friends really are when you need rides!

Good luck!
Doc

everyone pray for me please:beer:

ill pray that you do have to walk for 6 months cuz you need it, either that or jail time.

you should lose your license for atleast 6 months no exceptions, maybe more, id say you got off easy.

ive had to do the walk of shame from losing my license and mine was just too many points, i did good for about two months then i grew what i thought was some hair on my ass and started drivin on suspended. amazing how roadblocks pop up in the strangest places when you are driving illegaly.

what are you gonna learn from getting a restricted license for work and school purposes? nothing. learn the hardway it sucks but you will be better off because you wont do that stupid shit no more

totally different impact. it doesn't matter how many people get caught doing stupid/illegal things on the street, they're not going to shut public streets down. if 4 wheelers get a bad name for a few bad apples, our useable land is at risk.
live and learn man, you'll get through it. i've lost my license twice and spent a night in jail. i'm still not a saint on the road, but with a little self control i've gotten alot better in the past couple of years. one of the reasons i dumped myself into 4 wheeling was to get away from that scene and spend my money on something besides going faster.
it doesn't sound like you had a very good lawyer though. unless you've had alot of trouble before this.
my lawyer was crappy! my record was clean minus a few careless and reckless charges

sounds like you didn't learn shit when yours was suspended....

i learned while in the back of the car when i got caught on suspended and i wasnt racing anybody either i just happen to accumulate too many points from small speeding violations because i drove for a living. i dont know anybody that learns the first time

thanks for pointing out the obvious! that wasn't my point exactly.

its about safety man. i mean....he supposedly knew the street, knew there were no houses, knew it was a safe road to drag on, etc..

but, he didn't know that cop was there. it could have just as easily been me taking my dog for a walk. if you gotta go 100+, take it to the track. teenages in my neighborhood go way too fast down the streets and i even saw one trying to drift a fwd car around the traffic circle in front of my neighborhood golf course. rediculous!

the cobra sign would scare me off

the fox body cobras were pretty much the same as the normal 5.0's back then. they really didnt start makin any difference until the 94' body style came out. two of my friends that are brothers have both ben through some mustangs and their dad does ford racing 1/8 mile stuff. the older brother is on his third mustang which happens to be a 2003 cobra and runs the 1/4 in 10's. the younger one is on his second mustang which used to be his brothers. both of them started out with fox body 5.0's but are upgrading slowly as they get more money.

i myself am not a big import person. i am a big ford fan but i have to hand it to some of the tuner cars i have seen.

but like what has already been posted, racing belongs on the track. i mean even out where i live in the middle of no where we are very reluctant to race cars. we go to the first place we think cops wont be and the first thing we see driving down the road is a wake county sheriff.

His job, hiding from asshats like you that race down public highways.
dead end road, no house or people for about 1.5miles lol. yep i bet thats what he was doing. i serious think he was taking a nap but ehhhhh who knows.

...... and you're the first one to ever race down that road? willing to bet it wasn't yer first time. they tend to find these things out.

No sympathy for ya, that you seem to be more interested in getting out cheap says alot about your "lesson learned"

Regardless, he wasnt to asleep to catch you. And if its a dead end road, with no houses or people.....whats the point of the road? Has to be some building or people or something around, or else the road would be completely pointless.

Josh

it was a dead end road. i doubt the speed limit was above 35 and what was the ticket issued at?

traffic violations and moving violations are one thing.....tearing up the roads and racing is another.

its not personal and you don't have to agree, but i think the punishment is justified.

i do hope you get back on wheels as soon as you can.

Yo,
Do you have any children cause if you do, that was a juvenile decision to run 100 on the street. You should find a graph that shows the exponential increase in danger for every MPH you accelerate to speed. The six months will give you time to accept your poor choice to race and a chance to become more mature and respectful of the privledge to drive on public streets. Driving is a privledge and not a right, as the DMV man told me many moons ago. Get a liquor cycle (read 50cc motorbike) that requires no license (unless the law has changed) to run your errands and experience humility. Remember, with cars and bullets, speed kills.

i was pointing out one reason why people get much more upset over illegal 4 wheeling vs. illegal street driving. illegal street driving has a MUCH lower chance of impacting them personally than illegal 4 wheeling.

you asked the question, so "obviously" it wasn't obvious...

i'm not sure i agree with some of the harsh generalizations being thrown around in here. there are FAR more dangerous drivers on the road that drive at or under the speed limit. it has alot more to do with the person than the act.

don't get me wrong, the guy technically broke the law and there should be consequences. it just doesn't neccessarily mean he was causing any additional danger to himself or others than some other idiot out there driving 10 under in the left lane on their cell phone. the bottom line is none of us are capable of passing any judgement over the internet other than the fact he broke the law.

says who? depends on who you ask.
illegal street driving has a MUCH lower chance of impacting them personally than illegal 4 wheeling.
i am not sure i agree. impacting them personally. by personally do you mean the persons driving or the people on the other end? if the later...think about the fact that rarely bystanders, passers by, property owners are killed by illegal wheelin. often, bystanders, passers by, people in the wrong place at the wrong time are harmed, affected, cutt off, startled, killed, injured, etc. from illegal activity on public roads.

no kids still very young. but it was still juvenile but we all have to learn. and theres no way im geting on a moped:bling:

dude, you asked the question... i'm not trying to argue with you about it. i only gave you my opinion of how i look at it and of how i've heard a number of other people say they look at it in response to YOUR question. if it was meant to be a rhetorical question, then disregard my responses.
impacting them personally. by personally do you mean the persons driving or the people on the other end?
people besides the driver. the act of illegal 4 wheeling has a much greater chance of affecting a much larger group of people than illegal street driving.

the times illegal street driving does affect someone it might be to a much greater degree, but that's beside the point.

All I can say is either you'll pay out the arse for insurance or a lawyer. I got nabbed with a willfull speed competition. ( Couldn't charge for pre arranged drag racing b/c the officer never saw us take off). Avoiding safe speed conditions. Wreckless and careless ( automatically 4 points on your license) and speeds in excess of 100 mph in a 45 mph. ( though we were slick b/c it was 3 am and it was one of those roads no one is ever one at that time of night except the night you goof up) As soon as we saw the officer pull out we knew we were caught so we pulled over even before he had his blue lights on. Not sure what was said in court b/c if a lawyer represents you they won't pull your driving record from my understanding. I just payed the lawyer to go and being the contacts I have it only cost me $250 to get is dropped to a non moving violation. I got REAL lucky. I was expecting to give my license up, then found out I would keep them but was going to pay for insruance and stuff for the next few years. Thanked all my luck stars and some that day when I found out it was reduced for that price

I place street racers just a bare notch above the lowest, DWI's. A few years ago, about 3 am I was sitting at a light, fixing to cross a 4 lane city street. Light turned green, I started out, saw blue lights a block and a half down coming fast, and clamped on the brakes, already into the first lane.

It wasn't until then I saw the cars, no lights, probably breaking a hundred....if I hadn't seen the blue lights farther back, I would have been in the middle of that intersection. No contact, but it was way too close for comfort. That would not have would up good for anybody.
