Got this in an e-mail today...... I haven't been able to verify but still looks wild.
First it was baby formula, then pet food, but now you should watch out when buying anything from China, including bright, shiny ammunition.
A guy came into the police department the other day to ask a favor. He had a S&W 629 (.44 Mag) that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range.
He said there was a loud bang when he tested his new ammo (Chinese made), and the gun smacked him in the forehead, leaving a nice gash. When the tweety birds cleared from around his head, the pictures show what he saw.
Bet he never uses Chinese made ammo again!
Looks like when the round in the chamber went off, it also set off at least two other rounds in adjacent cylinders.
I would have hated to been the one that pulled the trigger on that one!

Sorry, but that looks more like a home reloading failure than faulty Chinese ammo. Looks like he was trying to push his rounds entirely too hot. If you want to get the government to ban Chinese ammo, tell them there's high levels of lead in it! That's all they really care about.

the ammo probably wasnt chinese made, but i bet that pot metal drum he installed in his gun was.

That was the first thing I thought. I've seen failure like this before from people who tried to load a hot load and didn't follow the loading charts. It's not hard at all to get this to happen when you load to hot.

I looked and couldn't find anything fully discounting the email. However, there was nothing backing it up, either. A lot of people seemed to agree that it probably wasn't Chinese ammo, though, nor that it was even a factory load. Another thing I picked up was that Smith & Wessons don't take kindly to hot loads. Seems there may be a ban in the US on importing Chinese ammo anyway. I didn't dig into that one too deep.
