You can do that, but a 3/4-3/4 heim is not as strong as a 3/4-5/8 heim is. The method with the sleeve is to use the stronger heim.

You'd break a knuckle first. Hell, you could probably talk me into running a regular JM12 without too much persuading. It's already better than a 1-ton GM TRE. 6 of one....
