who here has a wife or girlfriend that has or wants a Roomba? the wife said a few weeks ago that she wanted one for Christmas. I started looking into it, and have found some in various places. we were talking last night and I was secretly trying to find out if it was a good idea for me to get it, and she said "well if you were planning on getting me one don't, because that's something that I'd have to use for the house, and not for me".

WTF??????

Get her a roomba and a vibrator.
Tell her one is for the house the other for her, with the time she is saving.

wow, now she's all pissed off because I'm trying to surprise her tonight by taking her out to eat at a pretty nice place. I won't tell her where, but she knew I was online looking at their business hours and all, so she got up and tried to take the laptop out of my hands to see what I was looking at and got pissed off when I told her she just needed to let me surprise her. I know for a fact that she loves this place, because we've been there many times before.

WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS??? any other female would be ECSTATIC about being surprised like this.

This is why I am 30 and single and ok with it. What the hell is a rooomba? Is it Rambos cousin. Rule 1...Never marry a girl that wont use a vibrator...Rule 2...never forget rule number 1.

Any, well almost any woman who says they don't, (or haven't) used one is most likely lying.

And what the hell is a Roomba?

Unfortunately not true. Mine (soon to be ex) is just like that. She doesn't trust my judgement, so I'm done trying with her.

NEVER buy a wife or girl friend a gift that can be used on the home. IE Cleaning.

Gifts should be only for her and her and only her. Get her something that only she can enjoy and she will love it.

As far the laptop thing some women (like mine) want to be in control but not in charge. She wants to make the finale call on dinner, but doesn't want to decide or come up with where to go.

A better approach with same affect,

You "(Hear name) How about I take you out tonite to (place) I know thats your favorite."

She will love that you thought of her first.

Married 8 years here.

I've got my wife vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners, and kitchen type stuff, all because she asked for it...she loves it. Everyone I talked to beforehand says don't buy her cleaning and kitchen stuff, even if she begs for it, but I'm not a good listener. I've also got her stuff for "her" Cherokee, those weren't much of a hit, go figure. Jewelry and crap, not really a big hit either. Sex toys went over well, before kids. Married 12 yrs now, I still don't know what I'm doing.
BTW, this year its nothing, or some kitchen crap, if I get motivated to go out shopping.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet you haven't been married very long.

Yeah, I'm with Rat out there on that Limb...it only gets better...:shaking:

My Wife says ... Jewelry, how big or small isn't an issue, she'll like it at least for awhile. She suggests the Jane Seymore collection ( no clue sorry )

Appliances are not a good main gift, if you do appliances, you better have a good secondary, cuz you'll be using the appliance yourself long before she ever will.

Though I gotta say, 2 years ago I got my wife a new smooth top stove with convection oven and she was pretty damn pleased with that ( the old one wasn't much better than using a can of sterno to cook with so.... ) BUT, weeks before that she also got a new car, so.....

I gotta say, she's probably a little miffed at you as she's figured out you were taking her serious about the vacuum thing. get the thing, empty the box, put something very nice in place of it, use the Roomba as just another house hold item. she may not be real happy when she sees the box, so you better make what ever is inside worth the attitude your gonna get. An hope like hell she can appreciate the humor attempt....

I guess I'm the lucky one here. If I were to get my wife something for her Jeep she would be super excited. She also likes kitchen stuff and cleaning stuff as long as it's really cool stuff. Truth be told she pretty much likes anything I get her and as long as we can afford it I can buy pretty much anything I want just as long as I let her know about it in advance. Hell a couple of years ago (before we were married) I didn't have much cash and I got her some hair tie thingy's and a hurricane oil lamp and she was super stoked about it. I also get to have sex as often as I like, lol. I'm a pretty lucky fella.
