Mattress Help

Another Sleep Number here! We've had our bed for 13ish years now & have loved it! It was pricey but not terrible since we went through their outlet store. In the past 2 years, we added an adjustable base (Member's Mark from Sam's Club) & a Serta 3" cooling gel foam topper just for extra comfort! If we had to get a new one, I'd probably go with another Sleep Number or a Tempurpedic Breeze.

We have a king Serta iComfort Plush gel memory foam in the glamper that's pretty amazing too.

My next mattress will be a Marriott hotel mattress and pillow set.

That is probably the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on, but when we were mattress shopping all the reviews I found said they didn't last very long.

Is this thing hot? I know it says cooling, but I've been fooled by that one before. I am a very hot sleeper. Like very hot. I hate waking up drenched.

I don’t think it is…but I like sleeping with the house around 64* with the fan all the way up, and under a heavy comforter. My wife and children don’t, they prefer 68-70* with fans on, and I’ll still sleep under a heavy comforter, and I’ve never once woken up damp with sweat.

Last night, due to FB & Goggle, listening in, I saw the "Dream Cloud" beds advertised, & jumped on their site. I did a lot of reading, researching, covering the reviews, & pricing. Just I'm skittish, about buying something like this, on-line. This morning, I checked to see if they had any Stores, & any near me. They have some Dealers that sell their product, along with others. Four "Sweet Dreams" mattress & furniture stores, near me. So I headed to the Denver store, & dealt with them. As the store sells several brands, I had as much info, if not more, on the one I wanted, as the Manager did. He did clarify, that Brands like Sleep Number, Tempur-Pedic, & Dream Cloud, have a contract price that a Dealer can not go below. So I ended up purchasing the Dream Cloud Hybrid Queen bed, with a Malo adjustable base & base surround, free bedding bundle, & $59 delivery / set up fee.
Total with tax, $2309.06. I can live with that. Also has a 1 year return policy, & 3 year warranty. Will take about two weeks to receive it. Thanks for all the info & reviews!

The wife built us a mattress last year. We ordered several boxed mattresses and only found one we liked. Problem was it started showing wear within a month. We sent that sucker back. We built one with the same specs with better materials.

She started researching, god knows how long, and decided the best way was to build exactly what we want. We played around with it a while and wound up with a nice bed for much less of a cost. Best part is if any of it starts to show wear, we can unzip the cover and replace piece by piece. You can also build one side different than the other. That's what we did, since she is a side sleeper and I'm a back sleeper.

It has a spring base, with, I think, 3 layers on top. Then a bamboo zippered cover.
Holy $hit, this was teh first I ever heard of building your own mattress. Never even occured to me that's posible.
After some googling, its totally logical.

@justjeepin86 can you send a link who you bought from I'm really interested in this concept. Also I've been thinking about a mattress or topper for our camper. Problem is our camper is a hybrid and the mattress actually has a "hinge" in it for when the beds fold up.

She said to start down this rabbit hole...

Fyi, I pasted a Reddit link and that's what showed up. I'll try to get it better.

You have a bunch of learning to do before you can purchase. There are places to buy you can read about in there.

Haha - I just decided I don't have time for this rabbit hole and will continue to be happy with what we have for awhile :D
