Metaphorical Question

The only gun laws I'd like to see is one that actually punishes criminals for using a gun during a crime and not have it lawyered away in a plea bargain. I think both sides of the gun debate would agree there. A good guy with a gun won't be committing crimes with it and therefore would not even need to worry about it. Bad guys don't hesitate to use guns during their crimes because they think they will get away with it and if caught get it reduced as has become the norm in the US legal system. Enforce what's already there and stop letting perps off multiple times (also true with drunk driving) and you may start to see a change.

The only way to be 100 certain you never have another leak, would be to destroy the water plant and ensure no water ever comes to your house again.

Of course the reward isn't worth the suffering.

Drill a well. Then you have full control of your incoming water and don't have to worry about getting water from an outside source.

Trump just said what many of us were already thinking

Just because the bride is a whore, doesn't mean you should blurt it out at the wedding.

Thing is, as a potential Presidential candidate, they all need to watch very closely what they say and how they say it. News is no longer contained to the US only. The world has access to every sound-bite, every snippet and every quote. If you say it, you better mean it and if you mean it you better be prepared to stand by it. If that is honestly how he feels, and he would be willing to enact policy to back it up, then his mentality carries with it a slippery slope that I don't think the US could ever recover from. Knee-jerk reactions based out of fear mongering end up with much worse consequences further down the road when more sensible heads can prevail. We didn't do everything "right" during WWII.

We managed to step on some liberties, too. Case in point the Japanese internment camps. The US recently paid out $1.6 billion to surviving family members to make up for us freaking out and rounding up 100,000 +/- Japanese immigrants that we felt "might" be a threat to national security. Now, compared to what Obama is dishing out on a daily basis to apologize for this, that and the other thing - it's just a drop in the bucket. Heck, the family of Laquan McDonald raked in a cool $5 million right off the bat because of his shooting at the hands of a police officer - and he actually WAS a threat!

Problem is - well lines leak and fail too. The only thing you have gained here is control over what you can do when a failure occurs, not actually changed the chance of failure.
That requires replacing all the pipes... by a knowledgeable, well-trained professional.

FYI - when I open it, I blast that sucker wide open, and even shake the pipes b/c I want to stress-test the system immediately and find any potential failures now rather than later.

I'm also prepared w/ a bunch of towels and one hand on the valve.

Simple question...
When there is a leak in the house, do you shut off the water at the main (so as to completely stop the flow) or do you crimp/shut it off somewhere else in the house?
Do you then, after you know the flow can be safely restored, just open it up wide-ass open or slowly open it in an effort to not overwhelm the infrastructure?

Just curious?
All I know is I was in Fletcher yesterday and came by for some good quality bs'ing and you wasn't even there.I started to go Brad Barnes's but I've talked to him before and the quality of the BS is not very good there.
