Half the kids I trained when I was full time at the FD who were dumbass junior firefighters are captains now. On one hand it makes me proud, on the other it makes me feel like yelling "get off my lawn"

I was thinking the same thing about our volunteer rescue just seems like i joined yesterday as the young pup. Now i have been their 35 years now and have been running thing for the last 20 years plus and now. I am the longest member there by about 15 years longer than anyone else. Man i have got old.
