My parents were in CO week before last and they experienced a tipping trend they had never seen before. Many of the places they ate at swipe your card at the table on a tablet, not unusual. After you swipe the tipping percentages pop up. The first options to choose from were 40%, 50% and 60%, with "other" being down at the bottom. You had to hit "other" to get to the next page that had the less than 40% options. They said it was super awkward hitting other while the server held the tablet and glared at you for not giving them half the value of the meal in tips.
