My daughter says, "I want these pants that have holes in them [that cost 50% more than the same pants without]".
I look at her and say, "No, first of all, I'm not paying more for holes that you can make yourself for free.
Second of all, holes are earned through hard work. Holes in pants are a badge of honor and memories of the things you did to wear them in. That's like buying a boy scout uniform with an Eagle rank on it already."
