Or... your neighbors are asholes.
The real problem is right now it will avoid both and kill the "driver" of the car.
Is that really a problem? The driver should be aware enough to take control at the sound of a warning signaling an impending g collision /incident or something. If the driver ignores it to allows the vehicle to make the decision the driver has this given up his/her rights resulting in one leas idiot on the roadway. The real problem is right now it will avoid both and kill the "driver" of the car.
This logic only applies in a situation that was clearly visible/avoidable wit ha certain amount of time ahead. The picture in the meme is a terrible example because it can be avoided with a reasonable speed. Is that really a problem? @skyhighZJ this is what happens when you challenge a neuroscientology type dude on stuff like this...This logic only applies in a situation that was clearly visible/avoidable wit ha certain amount of time ahead. Lets try something more common.
If you're rolling around on a country road and a deer runs out in front of you do you want to hit the deer or to crash your car into something else, like a tree or off of a cliff, that could kill you?
Accident are not always the driver's fault.
A microchip can process an image and put and action into plan much faster than a human can.
But if the action is wrong, it doesn't matter how much faster it is. When I was a young lad, I came around a blind right hand corner to a deer in my lane. No oncoming traffic, so I swung to the left lane. So did the deer. Next option would have been swing back to the right and flip the jeep, or more to the left and hit some trees. As you can imagine, I rolled back into the throttle to stabilize the chassis and fur went everywhere. But the best option would have been to be looking at the radio (this was pre-smartphone ) and just stayed in my lane and never deviated.A microchip can process an image and put and action into plan much faster than a human can.

I don’t recall where I heard it, but a friend was telling me how his cousin was driving his motorcycle, and an on coming car swerved to avoid a squirrel…a fucking tree rat, and killed the motorcyclist. The real problem is right now it will avoid both and kill the "driver" of the car.
