I don't know... while I agree in principle and would love it, that also means somebody will have the patent on it and require a license for every bag made, raising price of those things.
Right now I can use the same clothespin or binder clip I have for the last 20 years for $0 more cost to anybody.

In my house...when one of us is eating chips or cereal...we're all eating chips and cereal...so it doesn't leave much time for anything to go stale. Benefit of 3 kids...I think???

Or plan b, what my SIL does.
Buy box, empty bag into a gallon ziploc, put ziploc into box. When box is empty, re-use ziploc for the next box.
Bonus flavor from the sugar dust from prior cereal.

From a logistics standpoint, boxes are waaaay better to deal with. I can't imagine how they mass package and ship those bags for something crushable.
