I hate this so much.
The way i grew up. There was the same snacks available, day in day out. I had to ask for snacks, no matter my age. If i did the peanut jar too often i was told to have an apple. If i said nevermind, I was told to shut up and eat an apple at the table right then. What the Dictator and his wife (aka dad and mom) made for dinner, its what i ate even if i hated it and it made me gag/vomit i still had to have a helping (i.e. peas). I currently live so determinedly opposite this 30 years later still, that i frequently struggle trying to not let food expire from my ADHD shopping trips lmao

Luckily my kids are pretty good eaters. I have no idea where they put it all. But I easily bought 50lbs of produce yesterday, and it was fawking expensive…
