I told them thank you for the single best argument against defunding the police that I have yet seen.

Back when I when through the academy it was only 16 weeks. Didn't shoot anyone my whole career. Came darn close a couple of times. I think the criminals were smarter back then. Not like the ones now that get shot.

Don't you also need a college degree to be a officer now? At least a 2 year?

I don't know of any agencies local to me requiring a degree to be an officer, but do know of a few requiring higher education for advancement.

No not in NC. Only a High School diploma is required. Most departments will pay a higher salary if you have a 2 or 4 year degree.

And I believe rookie school counts as credit hours towards a 2 year degree. So you’ve only gotta get a few more credits for the associates degree.
