Motorcycle riding/adventure riding anyone?

So who has a bike? I am looking into getting more into riding, want to do the whole parkway (maybe not all in one trip though). Want to hit some gravel roads and such out in the western part of the state too. Actually going to ride tomorrow, taking the parkway from Sparta to Mabry Mill. I dread the ride home as I am sure it will be hot when I come down the mountain.

Got back into riding last year after some years off. I've pretty much given up dirt though. Mostly back road and touring now. Just did a week long ride out to the ozarks last month which was fun except for the heat.

I keep debating on selling my 890R for a T7, but I don't even have enough time to use everything I already have right now. Few more years when we sell the boat we will probably pick some up.

Can't help you on the gravel stuff. But one HELL of a day ride is up Squirrel spur to Meadows of Dan. Eat at the country store (or maybury mill since you will pass right by it), then take the parkway over to tuggles gap and down thru stuart and back home.

@CasterTroy Tuggles Gap might be on the list of things to do tomorrow. I have been wanting to go up there. Got on the parkway in Sparta today, stopped at Mabry Mill today and came back down Squirrel Spur on the way home.

I am trying to put some miles on these tires/wheels as I found a guy that will trade me (with some cash from me) for some laced wheels.

Up 66, and down 89 make for a very fun little lunch ride.

In fact, up 66, then on up to the DERBY in MT Airy FOR lunch, and back down 89 make for a good little loop

Another great day ride is up to Mt Rogers and over to Damascus and then down shady valley (the snake) 421 back thru boone and back home

@CasterTroy I can't go out to eat lunch while on rides, not while I have tomatoes growing and gas is $4.50/gallon

Turns out I followed someone today, went on all sorts of different roads I can't remember, but we stopped at Mabry Mill by Corbin's request and then went down Tuggles Gap. Corbin wanted to go back up TG send do it again but it had already been a long day by that point. Have put 700+ miles on the bike this week, thinking of going to ride the BRP from Sparta to Boone tomorrow possibly.

Left Monday night and camped at Uwharrie. It sucked bad. Was hot, but that wasn't the worst, the hammock was just horrible uncomfortable. I purchased a Haven hammock, they look to be the hot ticket for something lightweight. Tuesday morning went to a guys house and traded my mag wheels for his laced wheels.

Ready to go up towards Cherokee and do some camping/riding where the weather is cooler and the roads are curvier.
