I sold my built yj once this little man came into the picture

because I knew that I wanted to have a more versatile family, camping, streetable jeep that I could drive to the mountains, beach, and to the trails that actually had a backseat!

I picked this up 2 blocks from my house!

147k on the clock, a brand new top and busted D35. I wish it wasn’t the exact color as my last build but for the price, I could not pass it up!

Plans:

CHEAP!!!

D30 w/ 4.10s
8.8 w/4.10s
New 35” MTRs on 15x8 3.75 backspaced steelies
New cheap white body shocks

SUA with Waggy springs reversed
Boomerang shackles… This setup will net me about 2” of lift and should stretch the wheelbase a couple inches. It will be very low and stable!

Warn XD9000 from another project.

I sent the stock driveshaft of to be lengthened to save time and money. An SYE will come later!

This isn’t anything that hasn’t been done 1000 times before and it sure isn’t a rig on tons and 40s but it should be a good time! My little boy and little lady will love it for sure.

I will either regear the axles and do chromos or swap in something already build later on but it will stay on 35s!

I heard a this was suppose to be finished this weekend.... If it is done on Sat. call me....

Scott-until he starts doing chores or paying bills he can huff all he wants :D

Michael- there has been an issue with the driveshaft but hopefully I will see it tomorrow.

Progress? I owe you some straps for the yokes. Saved my day. Thanks chad

The rear axle is in, bolted up, and ready to go minus hooking up the shocks to the lower mounts. Front axle is in as well. I have to hook up the front brake lines and bleed everything. I still need to install the front driveshaft, front shocks, and still waiting on the rear driveshaft to arrive. A few small things such as bumpstops, etc and it should be ready for wheels and tires and A LOT of fender trimming!

Pics to follow.

I am still looking for a bolt on winch mount. Something simple yet effective. Any input?

Really happy with how this turned out. Also spent a little more on good hangers and went with Ruffstuffs Deaver SUA Full Kit Spring Hangers.

I did all new pads and rotors while the front axle was out!

We had to massage the gas tank to clear the diff with the 2" stretch and the low stance! We just dropped the skid, heated it, and forced it back in.

Waggys and shackles in!

Just for laughs! My little man is always a good time!

Brakes are bleed and everything is ready to go minus the rear driveshaft and getting the wheels and tires together. It is almost there!

you saved $1500 alone going with 35's over 40's.
and probably have similar pumpkin clearance with the d30.

i'm subbed too.
i'm piecing together a YJ for my girl (she doesn't know it yet, but she loves driving mine) and you're going the same direction.

Anyone have any ideas on how I should cut the front fenders? I dont really want to do a flatfender because I do not think it looks right with a d30 and 35s but it may be my only option. I have also seen guys run tj flares and cut them to fit the diameter of the tire. Im just not sure I want flares

It looks well used but it has actually only had about 2 pulls on it since it was bought and has been stored since. I am hoping it will spool right up! sorry for the cell phone pics!

This is exactly what I am in the process of doing. Keep us posted!

It ended up with a wheelbase of 98" and its only 19.75" to the frame. LOW!! Still needs shocks mounted, rock rails, winch plate, winch mounted, and bumps but getting there. We had an issue with the rotors and brakes that we are still sorting out. Thanks Michael for catching what our tired eyes couldn't!

Not a problem chad. I love the stance.
