My son is coming home

Ive been waiting on my command for 6 days to fill the correct paper work. The paper work only being a 3 page document and all it needs is whats wrong what there going to do about it and the signatures from my captain battion commander and then the brigade commander. To me it shouldnt take so much time and effort to get fixed or even have the damn surgery to try and get fixed. So until they do that im seating in the green zone they wont give me anything for pain and everything hurts to do. Got to love the military.:kaioken:

Ok been gone from my FOB since the 10th of August and have been ping ponged from here to there and back and all i have accomplished is to stay in pain because its a act of congress to get any meds that could acctually help with the pain and god help me the freaking paper work seems that there sending it by foot and it just dont make for a good time. Its bad enough that im 23 and going to have my second back surgery and they have me waiting here where i can only sleep for about 2 hours at at time since the pain will wake me up if i move an inch. Just wished i hadnt complained about it now and just ate the pain and waited to go on leave and seen a real doctor and had it taken care of by then. Hell it seems that the paper might be done by then. In 6 years of service and working on the 7th year i have never been under a command that gave to shits about there people. The only thing that they care about is looking good and what can they get out of this not how can i help my troops today they want to know what there troops did for him to look good. But im just blowing off some steam hurtin and sleep deprived will do it to you. And when ever they do this surgery they will keep me on orders until imable to get around theyll give me a disabilty rating and send me home and be medical discharged. Its great 23 and on disabilty !:confused::handed:

I think its like that all over the military, out of the three units Ive been with only one gave a damn about their troops well being, but hey what can you do but pick up you shit, tell em hooah and move out, well get back safe man

I last heard from Josh Yesterday afternoon. He said he was supposed to be flying out to Germany in a few hours. They have not told him anything else.

Ok finally out of iraq now in Germany waiting on monday thats when they said i will be flying to Ft Bragg and from then on i dont know what there going to do.

When he got to Germany yes, they give him some meds. For pain, swelling, and to sleep. Something he really needed!

I won't down the Army, but I can honestly say that I am not too happy with how he was treated, or should I say not treated. I know there were some individuals that could have done better than allowing him to stay in a tent, on a cot, with no medications, no word as to what was going on,...nothing.

I only hope that each and everyone that had a part in his treatment will have the opportunity to go through the same thing at some point in their career in the Army. I don't think anyone can fully appreciate the job they do until they can live it first hand.

I can speak first hand that back problems are not anything to jump into lightly. I have been fighting conplications from 7 herniated disc's over the past 8 years or so. I am about to go through my 3rd surgery. Tell him to try everything before surgery. I will admit that both my previous surgeries have helped alot but you cannot turn back once you start. If he would like some inside advice have him PM me.

BTW I have never let a military "doc" cut into me. I advise finding a good doc offbase.

the docs at ft bragg are very good dr they have help me and alot of my friends they will do what is best for you just dont get in a hurry to get home it will take awhile if you have you back fix you will be there thoughout the recovery time if you are in the gaurd or reserves ask them about the cbhco program thats where you can go home to recover and still get paid that is what i did for 18months after shoulder was fixed good luck with the back and welcome home
