ok ive had this jeep for about five years. i built it once with a 4.2 six 5speed 411 30 35 combo won a trophy or 2 with it. i tore it apart thinking one tons money went south got married and put it up for sale to build my 69 triumph chopper. well it didnt sell so the build begins i found a set of cucv axels for 700 got a 700r4 and a 208 for free have a mild smallblock chevy in my blazer the jeep has 2.5 inch springs great body and frame are all rust free. i have 6 38 12,50 15 swampers and just bought 6 15x12 rims 8on6.5. so the parts list is coming together there will be very few new parts used in this build i have very little money. got a set of rear xj springs for 30 bucks. found steel for shackle reversal and springpads at a local steel mill they are all what they call drops so you get them cheap got all i needed for 15 bucks. got the front end in this week sat the rear goes in and i can start the shackle reversal. once i have the rear at ride height. but here the thing tons are 31.5 inches to center of the spring perch on the front and the jeep is only 30 inches to center so i have to move the springs out 3/4 of an inch on each side. i look at all the yj build threads and noone has addressed this what are y'all doing for that

Just sell the 38s you have and find something for a 16 and up. Theres been a few sets of 37s that will fit the h2 your have on there now.

Cool build, and you've got a good list of parts coming together, especially with the CUCV axles. I wouldn't run a 12.50 wide tire on a 12" wide rim though.

On my yj I built some offset shackles for the front that fixed the center pin difference. 3/4 of a inch offset per shackle will work out perfect

didnt get much done tires were a pain we mount them by hand here no money makes you work harder

did get the steel for the back cut and marked

its a little wide but i think i can deal with it not as wide as my camero was

so now when the rain stops ill get my butt working on the spring hangers and the shackle reversal

Cool man jeeps looking good. I like the other projects too!

I love the 4WD Camaro.

you can get them at norther tools mine are older ones but still work well i think the new ones are like 349 each but yeah they are great for those of us that work in the dirt with no concrete floor to mount a lift i do all my building outside on a dirt driveway one day ill build a garage but i have a time just buying bolts so but good news i finished the rear frame work and got the shackles on all lined up it looks good so far have to get more gas for the welder this week and i can start on the front will post pics sometime today
